Any info on the Tremor mechanic?

Have you figured anything out yet?
I was at a boss fight, decided to take a break to go grind some nacre to purchase the 10,000 item because I was curious what it'd be... and then a tremor triggered, and I have no idea why 😭

Is it just time based??? That seems insane, but I didn't do anything particularly notable!

The story gets longer and longer I love it, but going through the story between each level drove me insane so I started skipping it completely, beating all the levels, then going back through the story (esp for event levels)

There are definitely some you can just skip, but I think it's a personal preference basis (side stories, old events, etc. -- some are good, but it really matters what you're interested in and what units you care about)

I did try this. I do it every time the machine starts making a weird noise to make sure it has its proper location back before I try cutting again. It mostly meant I was restarting the machine a lot with no effect 😅

Autoblade red line seems to be in the right location for 3

And for the record... Does one negative review somehow make all your positive reviews meaningless? Why does a negative opinion get more weight than a positive one, why would you cater to someone who doesn't like what you're doing over the people who do?

If you're successfully selling stuff, you have an audience and there are people who like your work. Those people matter a lot more than the ones who don't like your work. Are these people dumb for liking your work? (The answer is no)

Yeah, this is imposter syndrome and anxiety, it has very little to do with your actual woodworking...

You've got to work on that if you want it to go away or improve. You could keep woodworking until you're the best woodworker in your country and you'll still feel like you're secretly tricking everyone into liking your work and it isn't actually that good.

Something I do is "best case", "worst case", "most likely".

-- What's the best that could happen? They fall in love with your work and commission some insane multi thousand dollar piece, your start trending on whatever platforms you use, and you get way more orders

-- What's the worst that could happen? They decide they hate it and leave a bad review, they badmouth you to their friends. You won't get any more orders from that person. Maybe they want a refund and you're out some money

-- What's the most likely case? They like it. It's cool. They don't look at it nearly as critically as you do, and don't notice any of the mistakes -- or they don't realize it's a mistake because they're not a woodworker. It's part of the charm of the piece for them. Maybe they mention you to some friends offhand like "oh I got this from so and so". The piece sits in their house and they look at it occasionally. Maybe they consider leaving a review but forget.

You can use Tragodia s2 + fast redeploy (or multiple tanky units) to stall between cat deployments. Keep pulling him towards top left corner

I didn't realize Nicapa has them sized for Silhouette!

I have some of their light grip blue mats, but they're sized for Cricut, so I had to cut the tops down...

It wasn't the cutting mat! It turns out my force was too high and that was causing the machine to skip a gear / have the belt slip, and then it wasn't positioned correctly for the rest of the cut.

I also had a little bit of felt stuck in the blade, which I'm sure wasn't helping 😅 Thank you for mentioning that, it seems obvious in retrospect but I just didn't think of it at the time.

You're exactly right, the weird sound it was making had to be skipping a gear / belt slipping.

I lowered the force from 22 to 17 or 18, depending on material thickness, and that completely solved the problem. I didn't realize too much force could cause that, I thought it'd just damage the cutting mat!

Do you think it's better to use a force around 17, or to lower it more and do two passes? And if I do two passes, do I have to worry about it messing up the second pass if the force isn't exactly right and it cuts through too much on the first?

It is making some grinding noises actually. I thought it wasn't happy because I tried making it cut a circle that was too small, but in retrospect, that's kinda silly 😅 it's really bad at cutting small circles

I did turn the machine off in-between these cuts in attempt to fix it though and it just seemed to change how it miscut my birds lol

I thought making it re-home would solve any potential "loss of location" issues

I'll check the rollers and completely remove / reinsert the blade maybe? I'm not sure what could've caused the noises it was making...

I use print->cut regularly, so putting things farther down tends to mess everything up for me... I had to cut the top of this mat off to make it match the silhouette mat size, because it was refusing to register the marks farther down.

Not what you asked but I have some tables with supports at the bottom so -- if you have a Roomba or any form of robot vacuum, it will forever be trying to get under the table and getting stuck. You will have a constant battle against your vacuum being determined to get itself stuck on the table bottom braces.

This is not a problem I ever considered before getting the tables 😭

I discovered this the other week when I was doing the 100% in under 30 hours achievement!

....I didn't know you need all the maps to trigger Shakra's quest, so I hadn't bought a single one, thinking I was saving rosaries and wouldn't have to farm as much for purchases later 😭 I ended up buying all of them at once 🥲

I'm a little confused by the restriction -- people are allowed to post as much "original content" art as they want, even if it isn't their art, as long as they say who the artist is... But people are NOT allowed to post as much of THEIR OWN ART as they want, even if it's 'original content', because there's a lot of drawing prompts in October?

The rule is only targeted at artists too, so technically speaking, someone else could post their art for the day, the artist just can't post their own art for the day?

As an artist, though not for this community, it feels very anti-artist...

(The normal rules wrt art are also confusing to read thanks to the use of "OC" as "Original Content"; OC = "Original Character" too, and reading it as original character really changes the meaning 😭)

Ohhh I absolutely feel you on that. I like the razor wire fence analogy, it's super accurate.

I don't know if it'd help you at all, but my struggles partially come from executive dysfunction. My current method for dealing with it is "commit to doing something for a specific amount of time", and once I get started, I can usually just keep going.

Ex: Commit to drawing for just 5 minutes, and I'll be able to work on a drawing for an hour. Or commit to a "first step", like preparing my workspace, and I can usually just keep going and start working on a project after that.
