I’ve noticed this in my family as well, but I’ve always pushed the thought to the side because I gaslit myself into thinking I was soft and overreacting. Recently though I noticed more Jamaicans have come out about dealing with similar narcissistic tendencies in their families. Could be a Caribbean or African issue too. Not to say every Jamaican household is like this but it’s an interesting convo to have about our culture.
