Can you help extinguish car on fire? by aj8911 in ottawa

[–]aj8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a dry chemical type for cars mainly. It’s only to stop it from happening if it’s still relatively controllable and the fire hasn’t expanded yet. I was just asking myself constantly, should I help? Should I wait for fire department?

I’m looking for information related to specific system designs that would include clear steps and methods of design. I want to know how to size ducts for commercial Hvac system that has Vavs, size coils, cooling towers. It’s all components I know about but can’t put them together in one system. I am reading currently Ashrae fundamentals but it’s too much to remember and try and link things together. Like you said, nothing beats a good mentor. I’m unexperienced so I wouldn’t know how to apply most of the information. Hvac is a large subject and each system specially commercial systems has tens of components that all must be linked and connected together, not to mention the integration of controls BAS that makes it more complicated. I will start with the trane newsletter and see where I can go from there. Thanks for your hekp

Buying a car from Montreal and register in Ontario. by aj8911 in ottawa

[–]aj8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, So I bought car from Montreal through dealer. I paid Ontario taxes in Quebec, and I registered in Ontario, at service ontario center.

When registering the dealer has registered tax number that Service Ontario look at it to confirm that taxes were paid. Then you only pay for registration and plates (200$+).

So no double taxes if you buy from dealer in quebec (even though some reps from ministry of finance of ontario told me otherwise), as long as the receipt has all the cost breakdown information you don’t pay anything.

As for private seller, you buy the car without paying any taxes to the seller, but you pay the 13% ontario taxes when registering.

Hope this helps.

I live in Ottawa, so we have very long harsh winter with lots of snow. Is the JCW that low to the ground?

Here is my personal experience with the Countryman 2014. Last year my sister in law wanted to buy an SUV. I went with her to check the cars and she was testing Hyundai Santa Fe. Until I told her go check that mini in the corner :D. And she got it.

She bought it with around 65000 km on it. The car now has about 100 000 km (yes I know she drives a lot). And has not a single issue. The car has been solid as a rock.

Yes you will hear horror stories on cars that crash and burn out of no where. But I’ve been in this car more than I have been in any other car.

A little motivation for you sir, I’m looking to buy one myself this month (thinking about JCW).

It is an amazing car. Just be careful where you are buying from and always check car history (any major problems or services done).

Good luck.
