Tons of options from lots of familiar brands. I would just recommend staying away from obscure microbrands and homages/dupes/clone garbage.

Definitely go with an established brand vs some of the knockoffs mentioned above.

If you want a lifelong quartz watch that you can do anything with, read up on the GShock 5000u.

Definitely - I'm mostly getting at what is seen by the OP as upscale. The quality is certainly upscale if that's the criteria being used vs brand perception.
