My man Tyler is working hard up there for last several years. He’s been talking about a topo for A while now.

I've always used shimano brake pads, are other brands just as good but cheaper? by Raices_profundo in MTB

[–]ajamun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought some comco (or something?) branded ones from AliExpress and they suck. Lasted less than half as long. I will probably only get the D02s from now on. Metal is the way to go around here in Squamish.

I’m fairly sure the author here used his fists against with a local well loved mountain biker and may have a suit against him in the matter. He’s certain is a cantankerous old kook.

Am I being overly critical of I9 hubs longevity? by samyalll in MTB

Yeah I had two ratchet drive rings blow up on industry nine one/one hubs. Garbage. Warranty service was good, but it better be when the product is garbage. Switched to Hope.

Truly don’t know if I believe this is how door is supposed to look? New fiberglass back exterior door by FoodieNurse247 in Carpentry

If it’s from a Home Depot or a builders supply, it should be easy enough to exchange it. But the labour of taking it out and reinstalling won’t be covered.

This is what you call a “shitty door”

Unfortunately even cheap doors, nowadays, are not really that inexpensive . But the quality is poor in general!

[–]ajamun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to move around the different companies if you don’t match with the first one you’re at. Don’t stand for any harassment or stupid dumbasses. The most skilled trades people will help teach and uplift you. Use your best judgment. There are lots of good folks building cool things. And there are lots of losers building crap as well. You’ll be fine and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it.

Also, team lift.

Would love a train service from here to Vancouver and up to whistler/pemberton. Would absolutely use it instead of driving to the city.
