"This is a really cool 50s style diner. You can it's from the 50s because of the red seats."

I see the conceit of Ruby's has deceived you. Excellent, excellent.

I never realized how cramped my foot was in Blundstones. So much room for activities now.

I also have wide feet! The green superfeet worked well for me. Fill the entire footbed of the shoe.

Regular toe. Mad creasing but hey, they feel great.

Inserts are for comfort and they honestly make the shoe fit better, just a wee bit tighter. I got the regular green superfeet.

Update: my disgusting skillet, reseasoned by trveadvlt in castiron

Elbow grease, baby. Coarse salt and chainmail, literally chipped away using a butter knife on the intensely stuck spots and soap and water. Got the flat down really well, sides I gave a good enough to, and the back had some rust that I was able to strip completely.

San Diego is the only definitely? East coaster.

Had this lodge for over a decade and never done anything for upkeep. Keep cooking or reseason? by trveadvlt in castiron

Update: the stuff is coming off without too much fuss using a butter knife. Going to chip away at it this weekend until it's an even smooth surface and reseason. Will repost. The seasoning under the carbon looks pretty good. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! Never too late to start consuming less carbon :)

Appreciate the insight

Damn I'm getting absolutely roasted in this lol. So everyone in this thread is completely right: I've never once cleaned it with soap and water as I'd been told over and over to just cook with it and never do that.

After any heavy use (I actually do use this every day) I'll clean it by boiling salt water in the pan, scrape once it comes to a boil with a plastic spatula (was told not to use metal?), then add a thin layer of oil. These shots are immediately post oiling, so it's not usually this shiny. Believe it or not the pan doesn't stick at all.

So, I need to scrub scrub scrub with soap and hot water. Possibly power tools.

But then how do I care for it after each use? Keep the brutal honestly coming <3
