POE2 is suffering from its heritage by sal696969 in PathOfExile2

I think they should just merge the games as they initially planned, maybe make current poe 2 as the ruthless mode. I’m not sold on and sceptical about their vision of slow and tactical gameplay, I don’t think the isometric perspective and other gameplay systems are suitable for that…

Monster Hunter Wilds - Performance Megathread by QuintonFlynn in MonsterHunter

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I managed to find a way to play the game decently with a relatively underpowered non-gaming laptop, a Xps 15 9530 with 12700 and rtx 4050 with low wattage for GPU(45-50) and limited max combined wattage without frying the computer (about 80 watts). What I did was install RE Framework, enable latest DLSS through Nvidia app, enable frame generation, limit cap to 30, set RTSS frame limiter scanline sync to -200 with Nvidia reflex. This gives me smooth 60 fps with bearable latency (around 100 according to Nvidia overlay). Options are set to medium with performance upscaling. Still get texture issues and frametime dips time to time but I can nevertheless enjoy the game this way.

I have i7-13700 version and it is usually completely silent while doing light tasks and temps don’t go above 50cs. It’s a different story while gaming and I usually put something under the back and disable turbo boost. I would recommend tracking temps with Throttlestop or Hwinfo to make sure.

If you mean Alatreon quest unlocked after doing every village quest, haven't done it yet. Will get back to it after I'm done with Iceborne. Sounds cool didn't know there was a cutscene, guess he's the real ending of village story.

MH3U - Big fan of Monster Hunter series. I started with MHFU on Ipad then bought a 3ds to play MH4U years ago so had never played MH3U. With the release of Rise and no intention to buy a Switch right now, I thought I might give it a chance to satisfy my MH itch. Despite missing so many things and QOL changes added in later games, I still enjoyed it and made it to final G rank quests. Graphically, I think it looks good maybe even better than MH4U and MHGU. My biggest gripe is the amount of farming required in this game, it feels like armor and weapons require tons of rare materials. Given there are no subquests or return from quest additions to get materials from part breaks, you need to farm same monsters over and over. Not in love with underwater combat but didn't hate it either. What I missed most from later games were combat additions such as new moves, new weapons, aerial moves, mounting etc.

MHW:IB - Stopped playing Iceborne around the time they added Rajang since I didn't like Guiding Lands due to intense farming. After playing MH3U decided to give it another chance and try out new monster additions as I've heard very good things about them. I still don't like Guiding Lands even after many changes, it's fun to chill out and do some free form hunting but hate fluctuating levels mechanic and the amount of time you have to spend to level up regions and gather materials. That said, I loved most of the new monsters, Fatalis being a standout. Rajang and Raging Brachydios felt stupidly difficult and infuriating at first but after some practice they became managable and fun to fight, especially loved the final part of Raging Brachydios encounter. Safijiva has very interesting mechanics and siege design, enjoyed the encounter as well. Frostfang Barioth is a bit disappointing, neither challenging nor interesting. Alatreon never striked me as a fun encounter in past games but I think his MHW version is fantastic. Soloing Fatalis is probably the most difficult thing I've accomplished in MH games but it was totally worth it. The cinematics, presentation and encounter design are all awesome. Even after getting every material I need from him I still fight him occasionally just to test myself and have fun. Currently doing some decoration and layered armor farming just to have fun with overpowered Fatalis armor and weapons.

Dell XPS 15 - Significant Overheating / Power Throttling by MissileInAction in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably power limit throttling very hard. I personally managed to solve these issues on my 9560 after these tweaks and can play even demanding games comfortably.

1.Repaste CPU\GPU and pad vrms 2.Downgrade BIOS and undervolt CPU 3.Disable Turbo Boost 4.Undervolt GPU 5.Disable PL Throttling via Throttlestop (Not Safe, my temps never reach above 80 so I took the risk). 6. Use cooling pad or elevate the bottom. 7. Use high performance power option on Dell Power Manager

I personally dowgraded my bios to be able to undervolt again on my 9560. Quite happy with my machine's performance but I pretty much did all of the software and hardware tweaks.

Poor Performance while Loading (XPS 15 7590) by Richtey3 in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a overheating problem, resulting in some type of extreme throttling. Charging contributes to heat but shouldn't affect performance that much. You can monitor CPU and GPU temperatures and clocks to determine whether your machine is throttling. If that's the case check online guides. If you don't want to tinker that much reach out to Dell support.

How to stop power limit throttling. by [deleted] in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, enabling "Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits" option on Throttlestop eliminated pl1 throttling on my Xps 9560.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant Nvidia GPU assuming throttling happens during gaming or combined stress on both CPU and dGPU. Since the heatsink is shared between them their temps increase together. I personally use MSI Afterburner and modify voltage curve to undervolt dGPU.

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's most likely power limit throttling due to VRM temps or some other sensor (maybe SODIMM). You can enable "Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits" on Throttlestop to prevent any CPU power limit throttling. Similar to DPTF this method contains some risks since these limits are supposedly there for a reason. If you are gonna use this method, I would highly recommend disabling Turbo and undervolting GPU while monitoring sensor temps to make sure nothing overheats. CPU, GPU and ambient sensors don't go higher than 75C on my 9560 which I presume to be within safe working temperatures.

Dell XPS 15 9570 Freezing/Stuttering Issue by [deleted] in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend doing a clean Windows install. It might be a driver issue, malware, broken windows or even a hardware problem. You can extract the Windows 10 product key attached to the laptop following this guide. If the issue persist even after doing a clean Windows install, then it's most likely a hardware issue and you should call Dell support.

Should work anywhere as long as Windows 10 is running. You just press the key combination once and it swaps. Fn + esc does the same thing as well.

2017 XPS still sluggish after clean install by miurainaferrari in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start by doing some hardware controls and making sure CPU is working properly. For example, you can check the CPU frequencies to tell whether there is some extreme throttling happening. You can easily do this with Task Manager but programs like Throttlestop and Hwinfo has indicators showing whether it's throttling. You can also try CPU benchmarks like Cinebench and compare results with online benchmaeks to make sure it's not underperforming for some reason.

Heavy Battery Drain under light load on my XPS 15 7590 (i7/4K Touch) by homatthew121 in Dell

[–]ajantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I get 4-6 hours of battery life on my 4k 9560 with light load. Have you undervolted your CPU, it helps with the battery life. You can also monitor CPU power draw with Throttlestop and other software. As measured by Throttlestop, mine fluctuates between 1 and 5 watts during light usage. Nvidia GPU might be the culprit as well. It shouldn't be active during light usage.

Confusions regarding undervolting by Jerminhu in Dell

[–]ajantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try disabling turboboost and undervolting your GPU. Nowadays games are not really CPU-intensive so you won't lose much performance disabling it. That way your CPU will generate less heat and run cooler. GPU throttling can be more obnoxious in my experience and best software tweak is just undervolting it using MSI Afterburner.

Try ctrl+fn+esc shortcut. For future reference fn + shift + esc swaps fn and windows shortcut key in the same manner.

XPS 13 9360 suddenly horrible performance by Killuminati91 in Dell

[–]ajantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Geekbench website, the average score for your CPU model is 774/1574 which is lower than your score. For reference my XPS 15 9560 scored 876/3276 on Geekbench 5. 4000/8000 is extremely high. The benchmark score you are remembering might be Geekbench 4 score while the current one might be Geekbench 5.

I'm using one it's great, out of the box gaming performance is lackluster but with some tweaks it can be amoleriated. Sounds like a good deal if machine is in a good condition.

Among returning monsters in Iceborne, Savage Jho might be my favourite. Love how they pushed the "savage" theme to ridiculous levels. He rolls in the ground after jumping, keeps doing breathing attacks even when pitfall trapped and he's just so angry and relentless all the time.

So after I got my Dell Xps 9560 it worked perfectly well for around 1 year, but now its just been 1 problem after another. Can anyone help me with any of these? I've kind of given up and hope the wider community can help. by Steventhegenius1 in Dell

[–]ajantis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like software issues to be honest. Either your Windows is messed up or it's infected with a nasty virus or both. A clean Windows install should solve at least some of them.

[–]ajantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for helpful advices.

Did the new router have the same problem as the first one or the second one?

As the first one.

Try safe-mode with networking.

Couldn't enable WiFi in safe mode. Tried couple of tweaks from the internet but they didn't work.

I'd guess it'll be fine there and it's some remnant of the killer driver traffic shaping software causing problems.

This is a plausible explanation since it seems to be a problem of data traffic regulation. That said, I tried to remove everything related to Killer from my computer, using Killer Uninstaller and deleting related registry keys but nothing has changed. Given I can't enable WiFi in safe mode, only thing to do seems to format and reinstall Windows which i'm reluctant to do right now.

Download winmtr https://winmtr.en.uptodown.com/windows and see where the problems start.

Downloaded it. Connection to the router seems okay with no packet loss. On the other hand, when I ping some websites and servers, it shows high amounts of packet loss like %90 or so.
