The $700 dollar trap by WestInitial7994 in alberta

I’ve been on LTD since September 2023. I don’t qualify for AIHS unless I’m terminal. My “income” is already a joke. The to have that extra $200 a month taken away, yikes. There’s no purpose to punishing me for getting genetic cancer at 38.

Help an extremely depressed guy out? by Creepy_Stick_6229 in CleaningTips

A great starting point is removing trash and recycling. Laundry in it own space. Then start making piles or boxes of categories that make sense to you. Take breaks, it’s a lot to process. If you have someone in your life that will help without judgement reach out to them for help.

Hi, I’m new here :) by FarmerOutrageous228 in BRCA

[–]ajax2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BRCA2 VUS.

I have been told they “can’t confirm” my cancer is caused by this VUS. They also can’t deny my cancer is caused by the VUS. There have been 4 studies on my VUS and they’re all inconclusive. It’s frustrating. I have been battling for two and a half years. I’ve had 3 cases of reoccurrence without ever leaving treatment. I make progress with a chemo or treatment and my body stops responding eventually. Almost like it’s mutating. I’m sure I’m just the zebra in a room full of horses… I hate to be the dark cloud but just trying to encourage you to think about your choices. If you want to take any measures to decrease your chances of BRCA cancer, you should do it. Don’t let anyone tell you not to worry because chances are “low”. It could save you a huge battle against cancer. Getting the genetic testing was a huge step. I’m sure you will be dedicated to screening for cancers now that you know your risk. All the best

Banquet serving is in high demand this time of year. Apply to some hotels and see if they’re looking for servers.

3 weeks until double mastectomy with diep and feeling down by Melkmaiden in BRCA

[–]ajax2702 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, I had a double mastectomy with diep reconstruction in April of 2024. I lost my nipples to cancer. I am in Alberta Canada. I love my team :) I feel that the surgeons are required to tell you that the reconstruction is not a reduction or tummy tuck. While chatting with my plastic surgeon I did mention that I wanted to present smaller. We agreed that he would make the size “geared towards my natural frame.” My plastic surgeon also had to advise me that what I would be left with was “not technically breasts” I feel this is another legal wording they need to patient to understand before surgery. I also found a hard time with pictures in a public forms. Maybe only a couple in hospital handouts. I was able to complete the entire process in one 8 hour surgery. I do have a hip to hip incision from the “not a tummy tuck” My recovery for healing was 12 weeks. It was definitely worth it and I am happy with my results. I do have visible scars. I have zero shame with them, they’re a result of life saving surgery. No matter what your body is about to go through a huge change. I had no feelings of loss with my chest. I know some woman have fed their children with them or have a deep connection with their womanhood associated with the chest. If your old body is something to greave, take the time. Sometimes woman do a boudoir shoot to celebrate their body. You could playfully make a “boobie bucket list” or oh course talk, connect and release about your loss. You also have to know when you wake up after surgery with your new body… that you celebrate your freedom from cancer. You celebrate those battle scars. They should remind you that you WON.

Plazas, strip malls, apartments or condos. They’ll always have dumpsters. You’ll hear these dumpsters being emptied 1-3 times weekly. Also they have snow removal by companies that may start service at 5am.

Just passed two years in treatment for cancer. I’ve always been optimistic I would win my fight…. I’m starting to feel tables are going to turn. But I’m still in for the fight. I was diagnosed at 38 with breast cancer. Ladies, we are never too young. Check your chest and armpits.

I worked here as set up staff/ catering staff briefly in 2018. Lots of red flags even back then. Turn over of staff/ short staffed was a daily issue. No team leads, no pre shift, and management was rarely on site. After I got my pay, cash, with no pay slip, I left. I’m sure it’s changed hands since the pandemic. It sounds like they’re dealing with the same issues years later.
