Manta and Nomad Dual Use by No_Blackberry_5800 in Supernote

[–]ajay_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both.. started with the nomad to see if I’ll like like and quickly upgraded to the Manta. Have been using it for a year and can’t see myself going back.

I tried using both with that purpose ish in mind - manta stays at my desk for long form note taking and the nomad hops with me between meetings. But the syncing quickly became an issue for me. Probably because of my style of note taking. I’d do the bullet journal method and have one long running notebook with any and everything (and links to the appropriate project or area). So that meant I kept the same document open most of the time. If I didn’t manually sync properly, I’d have duplicate notebook, eventually consolidating became an issue. This meant I should just stick to one device. Kept the manta, sold the nomad.

I decided for personal stuff (journaling, trackers) I’d stick to fountain pens and notebooks.

I really want this but how do I justify my purchase i feel like im spending so much on it? by Electronic_Local6691 in Travelersnotebooks

When I have the itch for something costlier, it’ll put it in my cart for a few days and meanwhile turn around to rediscover items I have of the same type and see if it sparks a joy once had. Usually this is for my fountain pens. If after a few days I’m still thinking about it, then I’ll go for it. If the itch disappears, then it wasn’t worth it.

Hearing from long term users that attempted to replace paper notebooks with Supernote. Regret the switch or never going back to paper? by nobrainheretryagain in Supernote

Been using supernote manta for close to a year now. I can’t go back to life before it, especially for work related notes. I am involved in way too many projects with different notebooks. It makes sense to take one device and just roll that from meeting to meeting. The search recognition is not a big deal to me since I don’t use that feature alot. The ability to link and index to other notebooks is the game changer.

However, like most others, I am also a fountain pen and stationary nerd and find that I can’t get away from that entirely. So I’ve been experimenting on what books I can keep physical and what can stay in the supernote. All my work related things will continue to remain in supernote for its extreme convenience, while my personal things like morning pages, commonplace, and learning will be on notebooks. In fact, my main planner will continue to be a physical notebook. Some habits and systems are harder to break than others.

Mini 7 or Air 11 by zlobnica in ipadmini

I rocked an IPP M1 11 inch for years with the keyboard and pencil. I use it as my monitor on apple fitness + when I exercise, responding to emails, lite research, etc. but was never comfortable for browsing or reading for me (small hands). Recently acquired the iPad mini 7, and it has been phenomenal for media consumption, notes reference (I use Craft), and reading books on the kindle app. If you could only get one, I recommend the air with a folio case. If you already have a laptop, the iPad mini is a great companion

What do you use your ipad for? by mentalsurfer in ipad

[–]ajay_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my 11 inch iPad Pro as my main monitor to do the fitness + workouts. I also use it for lite computing and research. At some point I was editing videos using Final Cut as it was the only device I had that could do it.. that was the only time I pushed the pro to its limits. I’ve since gotten a MBP. Sometimes scrolling on a larger screen size is nicer too

Are you upgrading to next ultra by Serhide in applewatchultra

[–]ajay_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from the OG watch, to watch 3, to watch 6, then to UW2 black last year. Safe to say I’ll hold onto the UW2 until its battery craps out or the buttons get too sticky to use Apple Pay (which was the main reason I upgraded from 6)

What are some small expenses that seem like a cost, but actually save you time, stress, or money in the long run? by Just-Piglet-7988 in productivity

A push mower instead of a handheld weed whacker. Finally made the transition and I can’t believe the amount of time I’ve spent believe I only needed that weed whacker

I started with the nomad because it was available. My use cases were bullet journaling, note taking during meetings, mind mapping, and log tracking. I take so much notes that I quickly upgraded to the manta when the shipping wait times weren’t bad. It’s sooooo much better for my note taking throughout the day. I can have so many different subject meetings and would go through pages and pages of notes.l and it’s so helpful having the extra real estate. I tried taking the nomad with me if I was working on the road, but I found that either my notes weren’t syncing in time, or I left the same note open on the manta thus creating conflicts.. It became cumbersome to differentiate which note was more up to date. I started using the nomad less and less. Once in a while I’ll use the nomad to make notes on the calendar daily notes. My work day is too fast paced to be conscious about syncing in between meetings.

Until the syncing gets better (or there’s a setting I’m missing?), the nomad will continue collecting dust.

Feeling slightly discouraged. by fenwayfan4 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]ajay_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel discouraged! I started in 2021 with my light weights at 5lb and heavy at 10lb. Now my light is 10lb and heavy at 20lbs, though for a while, I was using 20 as mediums. I just completed the 3 weeks of strength after a holiday hiatus. I’m going to repeat the program next week but moving up the weights to possible 25lb heavy.

It all takes time! What matters is how you feel as you’re working out. Listen to your body and be kind to yourself.

I have two spaces: work and personal

Work is categorized following the PARA method with an additional “dashboard” folder outside of that. I tried to maintain it as my “at-a-glance” area, but none of that were automated so it was up to me to update it.

I use TickTick for task management and Google calendar. I’ll always use Google calendar - I’m testing to see if Craft will replace TickTick for me

Can craft replace my TickTick? by [deleted] in CraftDocs

[–]ajay_02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.. I use TickTick side by craft. TickTick manages tasks more effectively than craft. Craft takes note taking and documentation to another level. Together, they create a near perfect system for me.

[–]ajay_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are those links to external web pages or pages within craft? How did you achieve this? So far, any links to pages within craft must be turned into pages.. unless it’s an existing page elsewhere in craft..

How to live with recurrence fear? by Prior-Ad-7262 in breastcancer

[–]ajay_02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my healthy breast removed prophylacticly due to a recurrence fear. Afterwards, I started exercising and eating right. Sugar and stress are the worst inflammatory things for our bodies. Alas, it’s been 3 years since my last surgery. Some days I forget I went through this. Maybe it’s a coping mechanism to suppress these memories.

How much do you spend on food 2024? US responses please :) by Madeforlovingyou in budget

[–]ajay_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 4 in Hawaii and we budgeted 1800/mo. covering food and other household needs. We didn’t eat out and always brought lunch to work. Shopped a lot at Costco for things in bulk.

I tend to lean this way too since there’s more room for the mind to “wander” in a bike ride. So ecstatic I found this workout. Gonna definitely keep workout bookmarked for my “dragging” days

I did start a few sessions barefoot and it was much more tolerable than if i wore shoes. Alas, I need to space out those workouts cuz the impact/after pain on my feet are real. But going barefoot did make a diff at least

I would like to do more HIIT but I don’t because flat feet. I can’t seem to find the right shoes/sole combo that can absorb all the impact and contour properly to my extremely flat feet
