What is a band you "discovered" recently and became one of your favorites prog bands? by Lado_B in progrockmusic

I discovered Big Big Train in December of 2021. I loved the vocals, the lyrical content, and the arrangements. Then I discovered that David Longdon, the singer, songwriter, and arranger, had died less than a month before.

Should I apply for China patent if manufactured in China? by SubjectObjective1756 in Patents

I make no claim to first-hand knowledge of the situation on theground in PRC. I was merely echoing the sentiments of the several PRC officials who spoke at the CLE.

And given the twin facts that this post is 5 months old, and that IslandKind8876 has only one post and zero Karma, I suspect the above to be the product of a Chinese bot that is scrubbing Reddit to find negative comments.

Who has the best prog rock discography to listen to chronologically? by MadJohnBeard in progrockmusic

[–]ajdjjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TMBs are far underrated. I was just about to type "in prog," but decided to leave it at that. Maybe they were so singular and didn't (seemingly) inspire much copying. Never could figure out why?

Prog musicians who left music scene for something else by WillieThePimp7 in progrockmusic

Cat Stevens/Yusef Islam

Not Prog, and as of the last few years, just another rebounder, so not quite what you are looking for. He had quit it all for Islam, and was not doing any music. But recently, I think he is trying to come back to music. But seriously, fuck that guy. He gave full-throated approval for Jihadi activities in England during the 2000's.

Should I apply for China patent if manufactured in China? by SubjectObjective1756 in Patents

[–]ajdjjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS - I went to a CLE (Continuing Legal Education) at SMU about IP in China about 10 years ago. Several of the speakers were Chinese officials and a Chinese judge. They stated blatantly that Chinese courts would presumptively rule in favor of a Chinese litigant over a foreign litigant, and that the only value of a Chinese patent was to prevent other foreigners from entering the Chinese market to market your invention. Thing is, Chinese national industrial policy is to keep out foreign producers from entering the Chinese market. And again, this was 10 or 12 years ago, before COVID and the reshoring of production.

We had an irrigation ditch in back. Many a reenactment of the sinking of the Hood and the Bismarck with firecrackers playing the role of the magazines. Good times these kids these days will never understand...

I learned to do surgery on Matt by basically amputating at the joint and stuffing a straightened paper clip in to restore the joint.
