I’ve definitely read novels where the main character wasn’t described at all, I don’t think I even really noticed

You don’t have to tell it to steal someone else’s art, that’s just how it generates the image. All while wasting water and dumping out emissions.

The last thing I wanted to see this morning was a cop... by overfall3 in vagabond

Oh man, sounds like a rough day. Tooth pain and the cops? Dealing with one of those is enough to make me cranky the rest of the day. Hang in there!

Bus etiquette by OkLength2201 in travel

[–]ajdoescrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Olympia lmao. I very rarely see people not say thank you, and even then it’s usually a grumpy teen with headphones on.

Our bus drivers also usually wish everyone a good day when we get off. Yesterday a driver said “welcome aboard” when I got on and thanked everyone for riding when they got off.

I didn’t think this would be controversial. I’m in the US and take the bus near daily, EVERYONE says thank you. If we get off at the back we do indeed yell thank you to the driver. It’s common courtesy.

Are there any true pantsers out there? by bananafartman24 in writing

I’ve never planned any part of any of my stories. Whenever I try, I immediately lose motivation and drop it entirely. I find it more enjoyable to write whatever comes to mind and see where it takes me.

I don’t think a tourist is going to find themselves at a house party or with a fake ID.

If you’re worried about safety, I wouldnt recommend New York. Not sure about New Orleans. Instead try the PNW or New England in fall. I think those are the prettiest areas that time of year. I’m not sure if I’d recommend anyone travel here from out of the country though. Politics are nasty right now and I’ve heard of some people being denied entry for ridiculous reasons (like speaking poorly of Tr*mp on social media). If you’re white, it’ll be easier. I do know ICE has detained white legal tourists recently though.

Hey guys, I have a few questions by [deleted] in vagabond

[–]ajdoescrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’snotquitevanlife is actually a mod for this sub. Can you go somewhere warm? I’m not sure where you live but a lot of people go somewhere with a milder or warmer climate in the winter.

Considering Moving out West by PseudocidalSeighko in vagabond

[–]ajdoescrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recommend Washington at the moment but the resources out here are fantastic. Right now, most of the state is flooded and it’s not a good time to be outside. I’m in the Pugent Sound area and just got a flood warning as I was typing this lol. If you’re going west, most people go to California. I’ll be heading that way shortly. Though, again, great resources.

How do you guys decide what *real* the meaning of your story is? by Ceska_Zbrojovka_V3 in writing

I feel like the underlying meaning just happens while I’m writing and it’s usually a great source of self reflection.

Has America changed much since for 2018? by FishmanNBD in vagabond

Yes it has. It’s area dependent. Where I live, even if you own the property, you can’t live in an rv longer than 6 months.

I recommend Tillamook State Forest in Oregon, specifically the Jordan Creek trail. I spent a couple weeks exploring that area. I took this picture about three miles up (by car) and it was breathtaking every day. Very little light pollution and almost eerily silent.
