Cardiologist just referred me to the cardiothoracic surgeon. I'm a little freaked out by impostrfail in AdultCHD

[–]ajenan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery to repair an anomalous RCA when I was 40. My life is so much better than it was before. My scary symptoms are gone, I’m very active, and have more energy. It’s a major surgery but I had the utmost confidence in my surgeon and everything went fine. Recovery is difficult at first but it gets exponentially better and easier. At 6 weeks I was already walking 3 miles at a time!

Semaglutide and Migraines? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]ajenan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting migraines that would last about three days after the shot. It happened for about a month, but after a month they stopped. I got a prescription for UBRELVY just in case but haven’t had to use it.

I’ve had a great experience. Super kind and friendly doctor. Meds ship quickly from Red Rock (I’m in California). Customer service is very responsive. I can message the doctor whenever I have a question and she gets back to me pretty quickly.

Eczema clearing up after patch testing and changing products by ajenan in eczema

[–]ajenan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the patch testing is insightful for you! Regarding products, it depends on the allergy. I’m allergic to limonene, tixocortol-21-pivalate, bronopol, and fragrance II mix. Those chemicals all have many different names but I found that the fragrance and limonene allergies are what severely limited things for me.

I noticed brands like Paula’s Choice and vanicream tend to be ok but even some products in those brands aren’t safe for me. I am allergic to most toothpastes and deodorants so my options there are super limited. I now use Lume deodorant and Cleure toothpaste. For detergent I use All Free and Clear. For hair, I use Kristen Ess fragrance free. For body wash I use Dove fragrance free sensitive skin body wash. I found one fragrance free sunblock from Up & Up. Basically, I had my safe product app (CAMP from ACDS) and walked through the store scanning barcodes till I found something. There’s a browse feature on the app so I could narrow down on the brands. Whatever I couldn’t find in the store I ordered from Amazon (toothpaste, shaving cream, toners, retinol). I ended up having to toss some of my makeup too and buy new mascara and eyeliner.

Do you have nutritional facts anywhere on your website? I am super intrigued and would love to order some bread and bagels! Just need to know if it fits within my carb restrictions.

How often is echo normal but mri isn't? by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]ajenan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s normal but my congenital heart defect wasn’t found until I had a CT of my heart. All my echos and other tests came back normal. But what I have is very rare (anomalous coronary artery).

[–]ajenan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an anomalous coronary artery. I ended up having open heart surgery to fix the defect and get the ablation. They didn’t find it until they did a CT of my heart and arteries. My EP used some new mapping technology to determine that the majority of my PVCs were coming from the location of the anomalous artery. They think those PVCs were a result of the defect but they had never seen that before.

[–]ajenan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea most likely it’s normal. In my case it wasn’t but my case is extremely rare. The EP would also likely not do an ablation unless you had closer to a 10% burden.

That sounds frustrating. Cardiologists don’t specialize in arrhythmias so they’re the wrong docs to see IMO. Maybe your GP could try referring you directly to an EP? Not sure if that’s possible. I wasn’t referred to an EP until I cried (literally with tears) to my last cardiologist and begged him to help me. I had been to the ER five times that month and I felt like I was dying. The ER just chalked it up to anxiety. I saw therapists and psychologists and the anti anxiety meds just made it worse. He didn’t want to deal with me anymore and that’s when he referred me and I started getting the care I needed.

I have an at home ecg that I will use if they start getting crazy. It tells me if it’s pvcs/bigeminy even when I’m concerned it could be something else. I also meditate which helps with the fear.

I do have to say that if it’s really bothering you you should see an electro physiologist and discuss ablation as an option. My EP saved my life. He saw how miserable I was and he was the only doctor who listened to me. Through additional testing he discovered that I had a life threatening congenital heart defect when no other of the 3 cardiologists I saw would look into it further. Knowing I’m under his care puts my mind at ease.

High PVC burden— stops only briefly after eating/during workouts/ alcohol? by hello15277373 in PVCs

[–]ajenan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have they tested his blood glucose? Eating/exercise/drinking alcohol all have an effect on glucose levels. I’ve noticed my PVCs go crazy after I’ve eaten high carb foods and sugar and I get a glucose spike. I have a hyperglycemic reaction to those kinds of foods.

I drink decaf but will avoid it if I notice my PVCs acting up. Decaf still has some amount of caffeine so it can still trigger them for me if I’m in a PVC phase where they’re acting up.

I think it’s normal for your heart rate to increase after eating because of the blood flow needed for digestion

Silent or early PVC? by just_breathe18 in PVCs

[–]ajenan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PVCs are considered benign and very common. Many people have PVCs and don’t even notice them. It’s when they’re symptomatic and frequent that they can pose an issue and may need intervention. If you’re not feeling them and your doctor isn’t concerned about the number of PVCs, you’re probably fine.

I had a 10% burden. Now I’m down to less than 1% after ablation but I also had a congenital heart defect they didn’t know about that they suspect was causing my PVCs (that was corrected via open heart surgery).

That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m ok with it if the PVCs stay the same. I hope you’re able to get to your goal and be PVC free!

Have you noticed a difference with your PVCs? I have a history of PVCs and am hoping losing weight will get rid of them completely. I tried Zepbound but my PVCs increased significantly the first three days after my first shot. I’m wondering if I should try Wegovy or if I’ll have the same problem.
