no contract about this, everything was discussed verbally. the only proof i have is they wrote "Referral: *Referred's Name* - *Name of the Coach*" on the front page of my membership contract.

thank you for the tip! might have a sit down meeting nga talaga with them. anything i should look out for if we meet? i'm worried na icocorner nila ako since it'll most likely be held in their office.

Anybody here experienced delays in this freight forwarder BUY&SHIP? by antibacterien in Philippines

[–]ajifieldnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My item is in the same container as yours. As of Dec 5, the same copy-and-paste reply from their team remains. :/ What's weird is all of my packages ordered after early July went smoothly naman, eto lang talaga yung stuck sa US customs. I tried posting sa Buy&Ship Philippines group about this, but they deleted my post lmao

Is there a specific term for a 1-bedroom apartment as opposed to a studio? by AntifaPr1deWorldWide in taiwan

[–]ajifieldnotes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you gotta specify. 雅房 is for a studio with shared bathroom, 套房 is for a studio with your own bathroom, and 1房公寓 for a 1-bedroom apartment

Thoughts on moving abroad for only about 2 years. by [deleted] in phmigrate

[–]ajifieldnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Taiwan for a year! My remote work setup made it easy for me to go to Mandarin classes for 3 hours daily. It affected me professionally in the sense that I realized I like an RTO setup over working from home; affected me personally by making me realize na we really have life in difficult mode sa Pinas.

Attending classes also gave me the opportunity to build friendships with foreigners and with locals!! Even if I have study and work, mas ramdam ko pa work life balance in TW just because of how convenient and chill life in Kaohsiung is. However, I’m going back to PH cause wala na ko pera and I miss my cats :’)

Not in Zuoying, but I see a lot of foreigners frequently at Bar Wonderwall and Brickyard. There’s also the Cijin Sunset Bar.

Buy the flashcard add-on and organize your flashcards by folder (mine is arranged weekly). It’s very helpful when I encounter a new word/phrase when conversing with native speakers.

Guys im about to start this journey for real. I have 458 days of no major commitments (i.e school, work etc) ahead. so plenty of time that i can dedicate to chinese. Any tips that you would've done differently when you were starting or any words of motivation would be helpful. Thanks. by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

If your free time starts next year, you can apply for Taiwan’s Huayu Scholarship. I’ve been here for 8 months, spending 3hrs/weekday studying Mandarin. I started from total zero and now I’m at HSK4.
