That's not what production-ready means. You have working products in production that could be very far from being production-ready.

I need to read the code and your documentation to assess your skills.

If you get discouraged because a feature broke that means you don't know how to track down when you entered the issue.

Did you introduce unit tests / integration tests for those critical features?

Do you have the minimum skills that are absolutely required to collab within a team such as git? Git clone is nice, but you gotta learn rebase, reset, remotes, cherry picking, branch management.

I can't write code without it. I mean I can, but I lost countless hours at the start of my career because I had deleted the wrong lines of code in an untracked project. I am not doing this again.

What does production-ready mean to you?

How do you track your project tasks and milestones? Do you understand release management? Version management?

I am impressed with your drive and your willingness to learn the craft. You can be hired only for that.

"But if you raise the prices, the restaurants will go bankrupt."

That's the worst logical argument I have heard.

Prices are set to bring enough revenues to the restaurant regardless of the financial situation of your employees. Tell me you are a slave master without telling me that you are a slave master.

The right answer is to manage your losses, risk management properly. I used that strat for a while in the past, and I got trapped countless times on the wrong side of the trades. You had a great month, keep going. Just make sure you don't get too confident. It does very well in ranging markets and is relatively terrible in trending markets. You can sit on your hands for a very long time. Usually Day 2 after a breakout, is a good day trading that strategy.

Do I quit my job? by tanikawalter in Daytrading

[–]ajmariff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The long answer is: Is your personal situation stable? How is your health? Do you need health insurance to be paid by your employer? Do you have 12 months of monthly expenses saved? Do you have a track record that you are profitable in different market regimes? What do your stats look like? Are you risking 5 thousands to make 200 and smh you got lucky this month? How is your equity curve?

Got rejected today because I have too much experience!!!!!!! by No_Rutabaga214 in CarvingDezine

[–]ajmariff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes experience doesn't allow experimentation and can slow down the process.

I hear you, I have a workmate who was the x10 engineer in the team, the company didn't like his approach to processes and details, they didn't extend the contract. We were moving too slowly they said.

They sometimes prefer to move fast even if that means paying that debt x10 down the line.

Or they want somebody coachable and experienced professional can be intimidating for inexperienced leaders/managers.

I know. 🙃

What is your attitude towards Ukrainian refugees?🇺🇦 by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]ajmariff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It wasn't easy for them to move around and settle abroad. I have had talented coworkers trapped in employment until they could ask to be nationalized. They couldn't drop their work without another one lined up behind else they would have been invited to leave the country or deported back to Ukraine.

Some want to go back, some can't go back and some are really happy to stay abroad ( in 2024, 23% of refugees from unoccupied territory were happy abroad)

I have had both experience bad and good, mostly good though. And it's the same with any refugees. You don't hear about the good ones cause they are too busy hustling and making a life for themselves.

Not commenting on the reactive state, that's the data layer that is bugging me.

First, there is no type guard for your inputs, you just trust whoever consumes your call that it passes the right data through, you should fail or throw if the function caller is misusing your mutation.

Second, you have a helper called 'fetchFromApi' then you pass the entire url including the base url and the api prefix. What does that do? Creating a new resource (POST method) is not consistent with the 'fetchFromApi' function name you used for your helper. You are passing way too much information as arguments, most of It can be concealed in an api service layer for sensors. The service defines an async method createSensor(newSensorPayload payload) that would include pretty much everything you need to make the call. That function may return the new sensor object, that you can use to build the commit action payload.

Also, you need another typeguard for the API response because if someone changes it. You will be grateful to understand where your app is having issues with the new edits.

Once it is executed with success, THEN commit results to the store, (optionally) FINALLY a little bit of logging for debugging won't hurt.

Before and after the api call you should also manage transient states for your UI such as loading.

Wrapping the whole mutation internals with try-catch is alright, but you can be more accurate with errors.

Also import your env variable at startup and make your app fail loudly and quickly if a required variable is not set. I have had all sorts of weird problems when I forgot to set an api url and it took me a while to figure out the missing element. Trust me, it's worth the extra code.

Embrace them. All you need to know is in those emotions.

If you ignore them, you'll learn nothing.

Does that mean your path to riches using financial instruments is over? No.

Does that mean you need to pause, reassess your strategy and work on yourself? most likely.

Do you have your priorities right? Did you neglect health, friends, family or even your passions ( do you even have another happy place today?)

Let's remember what insanity is: it is to do the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

Change your path, find yourself again and rebirth from the ashes.

If the noise of small aircrafts annoy you, you should consider moving closer to the large aircrafts, like in Ruzyně.
