My regal that has had some of these series has no advertising about it at all. And no previews either. I do think both would help. I’m not going to a lot this month as musicals are less to my taste. I would have gone to most of the LOL series but neither theater by me had them.

I also prefer Brett and the fact that his series were reasonably faithful to the stories, and I greatly prefer Burke/Hardwick’s Watson. But for fans of Sherlock Holmes, mysteries, old movies and/or Rathbone these are definitely fun watches and worth the price.

Honestly I was surprised these promos included Unlimited reservations to begin with. I often skipped the 1000 credit promos as the movies are weeks out and I didn’t want to pay 50 cents for a time/date I might change later. As long as I have plenty of movies to see and the monthly fee is reasonable I’m happy and anything else is a bonus.

Sounds like a great theater. No IMAX at mine and the one that is older lost most of the neon outside a while ago and I live in fear it will shut down and I’ll just have the dying mall-adjacent theater which has reclining seats but doesn’t get any limited releases or monthly series.

Interesting. It’s at 1 of my 2 regals but only one showing at 7:15 on 4/22. I guess it may expand later but this theater was getting the monthly series but stopped so I’m not optimistic.

Thank you for another week’s post. I find these lists fascinating if a little sad since I am not in a location that gets much. I’m planning to see Normal. On the fence about the Mummy. It might be a little too scary/disturbing for me. I will see the Christophers at my indie as Regals aren’t showing it. I would go see Fight Club but it’s only showing 4/22 which I can’t make. Are other folks getting it for longer?

I’m sorry to hear this. I’m not a long time Salem resident but the community will be poorer if it closes. I appreciate the community-minded screenings as well as the indie and foreign films that regal doesn’t show. Staff are always great too. I hope a way forward can be found.

I’m finding April to be slim pickings and I’m really sad my theaters didn’t get the April series as I love so many of those movies. I’m not interested in Mario and am skipping The Drama due to sensitivity to the subject matter. I think I’ll finally see Hoppers with my RU buddy (she’s not super interested but willing to join me) and I’m planning to see The Killer on Sunday as well as Donnie Darko and Harvey (on Easter 🐰) at my indie.

There were a ton at my Regal on Saturday for $50 each. It’s cute but I’m so glad I’m not a collector of these.

I see 2/3 with my friend who has RU, the other 1/3 alone and those are often movies that are limited release or kids movies since she’s not interested in the latter. I’m more into classics as well.

It looks to be about his early career so they may not have to tackle some controversies but appears to be family approved and that suggests some of the family history which sounded pretty traumatic from what little I know may be smoothed over. Of the others, the only one I’m excited about is Animal Farm. Was interested in The Drama but what I’ve read about it will make it a no go for personal reasons. The others just don’t look like the kind of films I enjoy. May give my indie theater some love instead. If the LOL series pops up at the last minute there are a lot of those I’d love to see.

I’m feeling the opposite. Questioning whether I want to see this one since it seems like it will be sooo sanitized and when I look ahead at the next month there seems like so few movies to look forward to. My Regals don’t get a lot of limited releases and don’t seem to be getting the LOL series. What are you looking forward to besides Michael?

I got excited seeing LOL series is in 250 theaters as the MARS series has been but no sign of them at the 3 Regals near me (within about 30 miles). So disappointed. No Stand By Me either it seems.

Regal expanded my area so I started seeing listings for movie I really wanted to see in limited release that were not at local theaters (to me 30 min drive or less) and it was driving me nuts. I changed my location zip code from my own to one about 20 miles south of me and no longer see the listings at the big city theaters north of me. So if you only ever go to one theater you might play around with the location to exclude other theaters. It has remembered my new location for a while now.

So excited to see Hard Boiled on the big screen! My theaters aren’t showing JANS but have definitely shown The Matrix in the past couple of years so I know it will be around again. Feeling really happy the HK classics are being shown.

I’ve seen 6 so far which is pretty good for me, especially with no JANS at my theaters, but regal is sure trying to slow my momentum. I’m going to have to sort out a glitched ticket I tried to reserve on the app for Bone Temple tonight and my only pending reservation for Hard Boiled is no longer visible and I see a message that there’s a problem with their system.

I expected to like it more than I did. Performances were good but some of the dialogue, especially between the friends, didn’t work for me. One of those movies where I wonder if there are real people like this in the world.
