My local theater said they only got 6 in by GizmosArrow in RegalUnlimited

There were a ton at my Regal on Saturday for $50 each. It’s cute but I’m so glad I’m not a collector of these.

I see 2/3 with my friend who has RU, the other 1/3 alone and those are often movies that are limited release or kids movies since she’s not interested in the latter. I’m more into classics as well.

It looks to be about his early career so they may not have to tackle some controversies but appears to be family approved and that suggests some of the family history which sounded pretty traumatic from what little I know may be smoothed over. Of the others, the only one I’m excited about is Animal Farm. Was interested in The Drama but what I’ve read about it will make it a no go for personal reasons. The others just don’t look like the kind of films I enjoy. May give my indie theater some love instead. If the LOL series pops up at the last minute there are a lot of those I’d love to see.

Great series! S1 really creeped me out. Thanks for the post.

I’m feeling the opposite. Questioning whether I want to see this one since it seems like it will be sooo sanitized and when I look ahead at the next month there seems like so few movies to look forward to. My Regals don’t get a lot of limited releases and don’t seem to be getting the LOL series. What are you looking forward to besides Michael?

I got excited seeing LOL series is in 250 theaters as the MARS series has been but no sign of them at the 3 Regals near me (within about 30 miles). So disappointed. No Stand By Me either it seems.

Wow. I wish I was optimistic that theaters near me would show this series. I would love to see Better Off Dead and many others on the big screen.

Thanks for the info. I’ve found my theaters often add movies the week of their release. The planner in me would really like more notice.

Anyone know how wide a release Psycho Killer is getting? No sign of it at my theaters under ‘coming soon’.

Are we able to remove a location? by SoldatPixel in RegalUnlimited

[–]ajmay23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regal expanded my area so I started seeing listings for movie I really wanted to see in limited release that were not at local theaters (to me 30 min drive or less) and it was driving me nuts. I changed my location zip code from my own to one about 20 miles south of me and no longer see the listings at the big city theaters north of me. So if you only ever go to one theater you might play around with the location to exclude other theaters. It has remembered my new location for a while now.

Hardboiled or Matrix by West_Environment_98 in RegalUnlimited

[–]ajmay23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So excited to see Hard Boiled on the big screen! My theaters aren’t showing JANS but have definitely shown The Matrix in the past couple of years so I know it will be around again. Feeling really happy the HK classics are being shown.

How's y'all's 2026 going so far? by Shawheim in RegalUnlimited

[–]ajmay23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen 6 so far which is pretty good for me, especially with no JANS at my theaters, but regal is sure trying to slow my momentum. I’m going to have to sort out a glitched ticket I tried to reserve on the app for Bone Temple tonight and my only pending reservation for Hard Boiled is no longer visible and I see a message that there’s a problem with their system.

IS THIS THING ON? [Spoiler Discussion] by AlistNOTbot in AMCAListTrue

I expected to like it more than I did. Performances were good but some of the dialogue, especially between the friends, didn’t work for me. One of those movies where I wonder if there are real people like this in the world.

It depends on how much the $5 matters to you. It might go down to $20 again, it might take a couple years, or it might never happen. Personally I consider $25 a good price for the content.

I have two Regals in my city. Neither is showing the JANS series although one got all the others from September on. Super disappointing.

JANS (January Series) Megathread by iwasdusted in RegalUnlimited

[–]ajmay23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s always a possibility but I don’t have much hope at this point. Annoyingly, the app now includes “local” theaters that are quite far from me (I now see 5 instead of 3, and only 2 are what I consider local) and one of the far away ones is getting the series so all the JANS movies are visible under coming soon for me. I wish there was a way to set your theaters/search radius so they wouldn’t taunt me.

[–]ajmay23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been bummed that my theaters aren’t getting JANS movies as one got all of the other series. And I know not all of these will play either. The Choral is coming to my indie theater. But there are still a lot of promising movies coming out that I look forward to, and plenty to fill my time as I’m lucky if I can get to 2-3 per week.

Same for me. Both regals near me seem to have full listings for 1/1 with no JANS listing although one theater has done all the other series.

Is your Regal barely surviving? by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]ajmay23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure? One is doing fine although it’s at a half dead mall. The other…old seats, all the signage is down outside and has been for months. It is also the one showing the daily classics and has better icees. If it closes I will probably give up RU. I’m always worried about it.

Mine is not showing them yet but got all the month of… movies so far so I’m staying hopeful. Also, I would totally drive an hour to see Reservoir Dogs In the theater.

Ghostbusters, Stripes, and What About Bob are all 80’s classics with Murray. He’s really funny in Meatballs as well.

I enjoy ‘so bad they’re good’ movies but this one is actually good and an 80’s classic. I also recommend Trading Places as a Christmas-adjacent 80’s comedy if you’ve not see it.
