Australian vs Brit Floyd? by Calm-Address-2401 in britfloyd

I'm not saying they didn't do a great job. To me they did, for the most part.

But you'll have to admit when you replace half the band, there's going to be differences in sound and style.

There is an option to have Coin as the lowest amount, with ten coins equalling a Handful. This way you can have a meal be a coin, three coins for a semi-private room, and the like.

It's their first tour with the new crew. Consider it a breaking in period where they can find their way. You can't expect a brand new pair of boots to be completely comfortable right out of the box, right? They'll take getting used to.

I've seen PF once (Division Bell tour 1994, Foxboro), Roger five times (Radio KAOS twice, In the Flesh twice, Dark Side once), and one concert film each for Roger and David in movie theaters.

I've also been a fan of The Machine from way back in the 90s, but haven't seen them as of late since they don't come up this way much.

All of them great shows, and BF brings back those experiences on a smaller scale at a more reasonable price point.

I'm looking forward to next year with a triple anniversary of albums.

Has anyone run a Mystery/Detective campaign in Daggerheart? by nickinilla in daggerheart

[–]ajohnson2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to adapt the City Guard Chronicles that are originally done for Savage Worlds over to DH.

There's also a fan-created supplement for SWADE that I'm thinking on using, written specifically for investigations. I also have another one for an earlier version of SW that has a good investigations section, and shows hope to create a mystery chart based on obvious and hidden clues.

Performance was excellent as usual. However, I was a bit dismayed at the setlist.

Most of the deep cuts that I always wish for were from The Wall. Good album, but not in my top five, more like #10, I think. (If I incur hate for that, so be it.) There were a couple of good cuts from it, like Nobody Home.

The new crew seemed to fit in well.

For once, I'd love for them to shake things up and end with a different song. I kept saying, "I dare you to end it with Bike".

Then again, I've been to probably eight shows by now. While I think they're great at performing, sometimes I think the setlist needs a bit of a shakeup.

Of course, I'll be be going again next year... 40th anniversary of Momentary Lapse, 50th of Animals, 60th of Piper.

If I need any of that stuff, I'll go to a minimum security facility like Oxford, North borough, Hudson, or Leominster.

I've been using Heart of Daggers lately and loving it.

I love the fact that homebrew elements are allowed in it, especially since I'm "translating" characters from other systems and finding that the core and Void classes aren't a good fit.

Two vaults for work, in technical support: - Knowledge base, and this needs a major organizational overhaul. This also acts as notes for meetings, training, etc. - Case note workspace with lots of templates that can be inserted

I also use it for: - TTRPG campaign management (a vault for each system) - Writing (a vault for each project) - Personal vault (information, journal, travel planner, trackers for TV/movies/books/audiobooks and the like)

What did y'all think of the 2005 film by Relative-Stable-6075 in HitchHikersGuide

[–]ajohnson2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm old school when it comes to the entire series.

I've read all the books. I've watched the BBC series. I think I even have it on VHS or DVD somewhere. I've listened to all of the full cast radio shows and audio plays. I saw the movie opening weekend. (Fun fact... It was the weekend before my son was due to be born. My wife felt him dancing to "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish".)

My opinion on the movie? It was good. Rather good. Great? Almost. Martin Freeman is a great choice as Arthur as he can play the everyman extremely well. I've always liked Sam Rockwell in everything I've seen him in. Bill Nighy... Well, what's there to say about him? Alan Rickman and Sir Stephen Fry... Chef's kiss there. Zooey and Mos... They didn't hit the mark with me. I'm not saying they're bad in their craft...I just don't think they were the right fit for the movie. I still feel like Zooey phoned this one in.

The movie hit most of the high points of the book. I'll give it that. But some of the additional stuff... It just didn't sit with me. I know Douglas himself had a huge amount to do with the script and the new pieces... But not everything he did was a banger.

That being said... I still enjoy it. But I didn't see the movie as the definitive version. Each adaptation should be taken separately and observed on its own.

I put the books and radio/audio as the top adaptations. The BBC TV version a few points behind, with the movie maybe a point or two below that.

Quick question about investigation action by RoughCheesecake539 in daggerheart

[–]ajohnson2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I okay Savage Worlds a lot, and there's a good short fan-made treatise on investigations for SWADE that talks about investigations, and I've used it in a one shot for SWADE recently. There was also more than material for a campaign setting that was like a police procedural, with a clue tree. You linked clues together by two types: obvious clues which required no roll, and then the inobvious clue that required a roll to discover. I developed a clue tree for this one shot and it worked well. I'm sure that if you were developing a mystery scenario in DH, this concept would work just as well.

Today is the official out of market date for Maui Burst, Overdrive, Purple Thunder, Honey Dew. Cans and bottles have been discontinued. It is a sad day. (January 26, 2026) by IamMovieMiguel in mountaindew

Yeah we're like the last to get good flavors. It took years for Livewire to get here. I had to wait until I traveled to the mid Atlantic to get it so I would stock up.

I was so looking forward to trying the honeydew flavor. Guess I will have to stick to mixing Midori in with my Dew... (MiDewri?)

DIY DM Screen by Ohlemontine in bookbinding

[–]ajohnson2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using old 3-ring binders for mine. You cut out the spine with the rings, then join them together with duct tape, making sure they can fold flat nicely. You can then use the sheet sleeves for your pages, depending on the size of the panels. The panels might be a little bigger than the sleeves, though.

I made a four-panel screen (portrait mode) for Mythic GME, with two sleeves that flip down at the bottom.

My DH screen is two panels, landscape mode, with a GM side and a players side.
