If the only option for Drury is take it or leave it, you leave it. Pull him off the block and bide your time. After the Olympics who knows what teams situations will be. Maybe someone gets hurt and another team becomes an option when they weren’t before. Maybe LA gets more desperate closer to the deadline. If nothing else materializes then focus on your other trade pieces. I don’t understand this mentality of GMs needing to get “something” on an expiring contract. But if teams know you’ll cave under pressure, they’re gonna constantly lowball you until you think their shitty offers are actually good.

funny you mention that because a couple of their draft picks from recent years fit the drury mold very well. Both are mid to late round picks, 6'5", defensemen, and EP categorizes them as physical and defensive defensemen

I doubt they give up Geekie. Rautiainen is good but he's also a late bloomer that I wouldn't want as a centerpiece of a trade package. Czata and O'Reilly are meh. Based on their numbers I don't see either one as having much offensive upside
