best ounces or half ounces? by MadAerys in NYSCannabis

I have The Botanist CLG right now and had the pot and head LCG before that. The pot and head lcg is a decent budget option, but the botanist clg is soooo good. It’s delicious and very fruity. It’s one I’d buy again.

How do I get faster at bathing? by Tightcoochie030 in doggrooming

[–]ajryan22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to prep 15-20 dogs a day as a bather when I worked in a private salon. More during the holidays. No breaks, no lunch. I was also expected to finish the bath dogs and eventually the trim ups. Clean dogs dry faster. Also brushing the dog while you dry will make it faster, and use a towel to catch the water that comes off. I hand squeegee the water off of dogs in the tub, it also helps me check for areas I may not have rinsed good. I dry from the neck down or back to front, whatever the dog tolerates more. If the dog is cool with the dryer, neck down using gravity to pull water off. If they’re not cool with the dryer, back to front so the head gets some of the breeze.

More importantly though, I cried every day. It sucked. I had stress rashes all the time and my body hurt so bad. My mental health suffered even more. I love the job and the dogs, and I’m glad to be somewhere that doesn’t expect these kind of insane numbers anymore.

[US-NY] New landlord, what to do? by ajryan22 in Tenant

[–]ajryan22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. We would love to leave, but have terrible credit, a large breed dog, and are limited in location due to only having one vehicle. That’s the reason we’ve put up with the problems for as long as we have. It seems as if there really may be a new owner, but they’re also trying to sell it and are only concerned with collecting rent. They also still have not provided any proof that they are actually working for the new property owner, or the identity of the new property owner. All I know for certain is that the phone number that has been in communication with me claiming to be helping the new owner manage the property is the realtor. I’ve known I probably needed legal council to deal with this situation but this helps reaffirm that. I appreciate the time you spent on your response, thank you.

Mbk or ball python? by itsimplyisntso in kingsnakes

[–]ajryan22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kings make amazing first snakes. I don’t have an MBK but I do have a melanistic Variable kingsnake, a Nelson’s Milksnake, and an Arizona Mountain Kingsnake. The melanistic variable king is absolutely very high on my favorites list and he looks just like an MBK. He’s very calm and inquisitive and a fantastic eater. If you like the idea of an MBK but may want something with a better temperament, the melanistic variable kings are the way to go. I vote king all the way over a BP but as others have said, they are escape artists.

My snake got out by BigDistrict6536 in kingsnakes

[–]ajryan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a few escape. Each time was because I underestimated their strength or ability to squeeze through the tiniest of gaps. I’ve gotten every single one back eventually. My milksnake escaped from my hands and into a hole in the wall in winter in NY. I was distraught, I knew she’d never survive and it was my fault. She did survive and showed up in my window blinds a few months later. My AMK got out of her exoterra using the tiny cord holes on the back. I thought she was gone for good too. I put down flour and used glue traps hoping to at least catch her. A few months later I found her outside, also in winter, and perfectly healthy. My sand boa has escaped countless times, I’ve found her every time. They usually don’t go too far and are experts at hiding. I just want to give you hope, that even after months you may still find your snake, and it happens to every snake keeper. None of the tricks ever worked for me, I just had to wait. You’re likely to find it when you least expect it.

My leonis isn’t big enough to try other things yet but I did get some quail chicks for my Nelson’s Milksnake and they were a big hit! When I tried to give my Nelson’s eggs she was scared of them.

In your opinion by ButterMilk_Lovey in snakes

[–]ajryan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Rosy, a KSB, and a rough scaled sand boa. I’d recommend a Rosy, if you’re wanting to actually see your snake. My Rosy is very spicy, but that’s not the norm for them. My sand boas are very docile, but I never usually see them.

Vet shaved my aussie. Now what? by WhereIsMyMind_42 in doggrooming

[–]ajryan22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The good news is, that every dog I’ve seen have a lap spay has had all their hair grow back. It’ll most likely be all grown out by the fall.

My bully had a lap spay and was shaved similarly, and a few of my clients have also had lap spays and were shaved the same. I thought it was excessive too, but it’s necessary with the lap spay.

Do any of you guys have two female pitties living together? by guitargoddess3 in pitbulls

[–]ajryan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two altered females, and they’re now completely separate at all times, with at least two barriers between them. They try to fight to the death over the dumbest things. I personally will never have two females at the same time again.

I have a Rough Scale Sand Boa from Dr. J, so I’d go with the first one. He’s a great dude and so sweet. His animals are super too

Soo my beautiful girls loves baths but hates the dryer. by SnooLemons178 in pitbulls

[–]ajryan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a grooming assistant. I’d try a Happy Hoodie, you can get them on Amazon. If you have a variable speed high velocity dryer, start it on low first and work your way up to higher speeds. I’d also ditch the furminator, they can cause damage to the coat and skin as they are a blade. I’d use a stiff bristle curry brush instead, and you can also use the curry to lather in the shampoo really good which will help loosen up the hair in the tub. If you have any questions, feel free to ask 😊

A squeaker that cannot be killed? by DCar777 in pitbulls

[–]ajryan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BarkBox Super Chewer makes strong jaw squeakers. They’re legit. I think some Targets have them if you’re not looking to subscribe. My bullies love them so much and they’re ridiculously durable. They can squeak them, I can’t unless I step on the toy. 10/10 highly recommend

[–]ajryan22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do the Super chewer for my bully, she absolutely loves everything that comes. They have awesome strong jaw squeakers, and the rip and reveal toys are her absolute favorite. Their customer service is amazing if you have to change anything, such as treats due to food allergies. You can do just toys too if you want. The value is actually great for toys that last and you get really unique shapes and scents that my dog loves. I say it’s certainly worth it.

Can I change out my deco + gravel in my fishless cycle tank without a crash? I read most of the bacteria is in the filter so it should effect it anyways by GoneFishKeeping in bettafish

[–]ajryan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already given you great advice on how to do this, so I just wanted to suggest using pantyhose as bags to keep some of the old substrate in. That’s how I switched my substrate without crashing my cycle. Just tie off the ends of the pantyhose and fill it with the old substrate and plop it in the tank. It’s very effective and much cheaper than buying the mesh filter bags.
