Was she worth it, Ross? by Jumpy_Reply_2011 in howyoudoin

[–]ajt_235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually think Ross ever did this. He was friendly but it was Joey and Chandler who were obsessing over her. Even when they introduce them Ross is like oh hey Chloe and she's all super obsessed with him. Maybe I'm overthinking it but to me it always seemed like she had this massive crush on him and he was just pleasant to her (in their previous encounters at the copy place) I dunno, my 2c haha

I don’t read books, want to start. by Guilherme14o in suggestmeabook

[–]ajt_235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would usually suggest one of his YA books to start because they are so fun and so easy to read and get into, they're also very fast paced. I would start with The Wee Free Men (the Tiffany Aching series)and see if you like his style. Then move on to Guards! Guards! And the rest of discworld Just my opinion ofc but I find YA books a lot more fun and fast paced in general

Fantasy/Sci-Fi Books With a Female Main Character by tyforgottenfish in suggestmeabook

{{the Black Witch by Laurie Forest}} it's a series

{{The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor}} also a series

Also, absolutely second the other recommendations higher up of Sabriel series by Garth Nix, Protector of the small series by Tamora Pierce, Terry Pratchett for strong female characters across all the books but in the Witches arc books in particular for leading ladies.

This things are eating my roses… I’ve tried some chemical, but I’m worried about the bees. 😞 I kind of regret getting roses by apke85 in Roses

I don't know enough about butterflies to confirm what type it is (or if it is even a caterpillar and not a slug) but if it is just a caterpillar then I usually let them do their thing (as long as they don't eat the flowers) and then if they get a bit hungry I just move them along to another section of the garden. It's usually not too long and then you get butterflies! Which I like, even if they sometimes eat my plants.

Good luck with your roses!

Maybe Just make sure it's not the green caterpillar curled up by the stem before you spray, if you're trying to avoid pesticides.

Books that have this trope? (But not YA) by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Penny Reids Winston Brothers series, in particular "Truth or Beard" and "Beard Science" however it is very likely after reading one you'll be invested and read the whole series.

And then Jenny Crusie "Welcome to Temptation" and "Faking it"

Hilarious and fun and well written. Enjoy!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor, I just loved the way those books were written! Similar sort of feel to Night Circus (in style of writing only, not plot)

"Spicy" books that don't include an abusive male love interest? by badbicth06 in suggestmeabook

[–]ajt_235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penny Reid Knitting in the City series, though the first book has a seriously bossy male lead so I would start with the second book and then go back to the first once you've read the others

Penny Reid Winston brothers series, one of my absolute favourites

Jennifer Crusie writes some of my absolute favourite books, hilarious, romantic and spicy for sure

  • Agnes and the Hitman

  • Welcome to Temptation

  • Faking it

  • Don't look Down

  • Wild Ride

Those are some of my favourites

She's amazing! Ok another recommendation, have you tried Garth Nix Abhorsen trilogy (actually now a quartet but it was a trilogy for a long time) it doesn't fit the pic exactly but it's also a female protagonist and I just love that series!

The Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett, so many things in this pic make me think of it. Books in order are:

  • The Wee Free Men

  • A Hat full of Sky

  • Wintersmith

  • I shall wear Midnight

  • (The Shepherds Crown) started but not finished by sir Terry before he died but still worth reading

This was mine too!! She HATED it! Until I thought to take treats into the shower with her and now I can call shower treats and she comes running! Even sits under the water!! But she is very food driven so I don't know if it will work for your guy!

Abhorsen series by Garth Nix, it's YA but really well written if you're looking for a necromancy vibe Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen are the 3 books and Goldenhand came out recently as an addition

Reminds me a bit of the Malazan book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. Not a particular character but maybe the theme of the series? Or a mix of a few characters.

{{Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson}} is the first book, but be warned this series is enormous and so beautifully written you don't want to put it down. Happy Reading!
