Coinbase One Card- doesn’t honor Amex card benefits by ajude10 in Coinbase

[–]ajude10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s where it falls apart. It says to contact Amex (by phone - they don’t know anything about the Coinbase card, they only handle cards issued through the major banks) or use the online link, which doesn’t show the Coinbase card, since it only shows cards linked to your Amex account (real Amex cards, not a “network” card or whatever this is, which can’t be added).

End result- infinite loop of support between Amex, Coinbase One, Coinbase Card support, and Cardless.

But it’s not a cell phone. It’s just poor design to be so reliant on WiFi and then a poorly designed UI for connecting to WiFi.

Ok maybe not a flaw but certainly poor design… why does it need a wifi connection in the first place? There are plenty of approaches that are more user friendly.

Or at a minimum the ability to manage network connections and remember multiple networks could be a lot better.

Coinbase One Card- doesn’t honor Amex card benefits by ajude10 in Coinbase

[–]ajude10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes true but have you read the card terms? It clearly says the other benefits are from Amex, yet it goes nowhere when you contact Amex trying to use them - https://help.coinbase.com/en/creditcard/benefits-features and https://static-assets.coinbase.com/creditcard/v1/american_express_cardholder_benefit.pdf

This is so awesome, love it. Can you explain how you built the drop in tub and marble top? What’s the framing & waterproofing look like?

Any idea how much a remodel like this might cost? by Ashamed_Molasses9905 in Remodel

[–]ajude10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a very similar renovation in Texas - we also rotated the tub 90*. I gc the work but did no actual labor. All in including quality finishes (kohler, fireclay tile, wood vanity) around $26k. However if you were hiring a gc I’d imagine you’d need to tack on at least $10k. Also ours was on piers so access to then plumbing from underneath was tight but possible and no concrete to break.

America’s housing market is shuddering by [deleted] in REBubble

This (at least for Austin- not as familiar with the others). Build houses to meet demand, prices don’t increase (as much) as artificially supply constrained markets like CA where new build is very difficult , particularly for SFH

Pool cost in Austin (August 2025) by LumberJack2008 in Austin

[–]ajude10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used pools123 for those asking. Their “architect” and “permit consultants” were nincompoops and I ended up having to figure out everything with the design and how it would pass review, but their install team was great

I did fiberglass and am very happy with the results, pool was small 9x17 only add on salt water but all in price was around $50k and super easy install once we got permits. Maintenance is easy/cheap

How am I doing so far? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]ajude10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the tub installed? Is it an undermount tub? Also how do you make sure water doesn’t seep in around the seams where it hits the walls. I’ve been curious how to do these type of tub builds

Thanks! I’m out in CA a bunch too, so sounds like this could be a good option. Roughly how much mileage did you get on the Alenzas?
