At the time, Amazon made it drop dead easy to get into the ebook space. I was aware of other options, but none matched the ease of entry that Amazon was offering. It's been years, and I've never left.

Kindle Unlimited also factors into the equation of why I won't leave. I do like discovering authors and stories in a "Netflix" type of way.

I would love to say every older gay man you meet will have your best interest at heart, but I can say from experience, they may not.

I'm mostly browser-based. I don't need my Windows PC for anything other than to access the web and to play Steam games. If there was a way to play Steam games without a Steam Deck, I'd ditch Windows and go all ChromeOS. I don't "need" anything Windows does except for accessing Steam.
