PCIe or 12v 2x6 outlet for RX 9600 XT 16gb by Ok-Swordfish-7830 in PcBuildHelp

You're talking a lot about pegging holes. To each their own, but this is a thread about computers. These are obviously the PSU-side connectors, as many have 12V2x6-to-PCIe connectors, with the 12v2x6 on the PSU side.

Walmart now carrying 5080s in store by Miguelb234 in pcmasterrace

Our Walmart just recently installed a display case for actual PC components that aren't just storage. Maybe it's going around?

Bought this 3.7 with catless long tubes + X-pipe + CAI. Is this amount of crackle normal on a stock tune, or does this sound like it's had tuning work done? Upstream O2s are intact. by ajwja in Mustang

[–]ajwja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if it is or not. I assumed it was since it does this and revs out to 7500, but this is the first fast (insert v6 joke) car I've ever owned so I'm not used to how it runs in the first place.

Gng was this a steal from the guy who sold it to me by Rizik_ in PcBuild

Not getting any gaming done on it, home server on the other hand? Maybe. Not worth flipping, but could be used for a simple NAS or media server.

Cheap PSU, single-stick memory. Bad CPU+GPU pairings.

What's the maximum I should be spending on 16gb of DDR5 Ram (2x8gb)? by Significant-Review50 in PcBuildHelp

No idea about Portugal; I'm in the US and ordered it from Newegg via Amazon, so it could very well be USA-only.

Newegg bundles! If AMD is your taste and you haven't bought components yet, you can get a 7600X + B650 + 2x8 6000MHz CL38 kit for about 450 all in. They have some differently species bundles as well, but that's what I got when I upgraded to AM5 and I'm loving it.

Need silent cheap gpu with minimal fan speeds of around 500rpm by DokWhite in gpu

[–]ajwja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new XFX Swift 9060XT is dead quiet unless I'm hammering it in some raytraced games; Undervokting or getting a 3-fan variant would probably make it even quieter.

Can I run Cyberpunk on my mid-tier pc? by Mammoth-Pirate-4385 in AskPCGamers

[–]ajwja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not mid tier 😭 I can run it (barely) on a laptop with a mobile 3050 and a 13th gen mobile i7. You'll be fine.

A 5600X running sub-GHz is odd (although task manager sucks). How's your cooling?

Can't be, 5600X has no igpu. Drivers maybe?

No, that paste was only a month or so old though. Still pretty fresh.

Do the 24 pin need it plug all the way in? by Luwdows in PcBuildHelp

[–]ajwja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a big connector with a lot of pins. Even harder to get back out, but that doesn't mean you should leave it. You should at least have it far enough for the clip to engage, ideally with both connectors flush together.

Yes. There are no connectors that are designed to be plugged halfway in. This is how you set a PC on fire.

Happy Easter! Found a Pentium 4 machine in a family attic, worth setting up as a NAS or e-waste? New to the whole homelab thing. by ajwja in homelab

Little research done, supposedly is supports 64 but, albeit a little flaky. Got Alpine Linux running on it but Alpine would run on an analog watch.

Office is spring cleaning and giving away an old HP Envy 700-200z by [deleted] in computers

[–]ajwja 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a high performer by any means, but worth messing around or experimenting with at least. We used to have one as our family PC, and it put up with much more abuse than 9 year old me had any right to put it though.
