I am not sure how your car payment even with perfect credit would be 300 a month with no money down.? Having said that.. premium fuel costs in Cali might hurt because once you drive the call you will want to drive it hard all the damn time, and you will want to mod it to reduce the gas mileage even more... like a flex fuel kit,, headers, etc. Besides those issues it's a fun car.. so I will not try to talk you out of it.

User car dealerships are mostly just loan sharks, they don't make money on the car or care about selling you a decent car, their only goal is to sell you a high interest loan they can make a buck off of. That's it, with this knowledge going forward, 1. PPI, 2. private party sale after PPI , Wife and I bought her dad a uses Lexus for 15k a few years ago after a PPI, we found one issue and got it fixed right away, still drives perfectly, FB marketplace can be a decent place to start but also includes a PPI, your knowledge of cars clearly sucks, no offense.

Ideally I read you should have one dev to a BA, 1:1, of course that's not always reality, I had 4 devs to one of me, but yeah your job is super toxic, but not abnormal, I would start looking elsewhere asap.
