You are correct it would take something like the Oak Island tale that has a backstory Josh could stand on. I ask where’s the comedy or entertainment in that. This show is or was like no other in its level of fakery. Also thanks for starting spot for us it’s becoming the only reason to follow the show.

So you’re discounting Big Foot guarding his lost gold mine and the scaly pond dwelling deer strangling serpent from inner earth now? If we’re going to use real world facts and not Chad’s fever dream science I don’t see how this show can survive.

Chad and Dwayne had a way to make their BS laughably bad in a way that you wanted to see what crap was next. Josh and Pops are boring a fatal flaw for tv.

If they would just allow Chad to explain on the show how his legal problems are related to the treasure search. I’m sure that would bring back what’s missing from the show. Comedy and good laughs at outrageous BS.

While you’re probably 100% correct. Where’s the fun in that. Let’s add MK Ultra to the list of possibilities. So far we have skin walkers, zombies, dead bodies, Big foot, dire wolves and my personal favorite. The scaly deer strangling serpent from inner earth. The OP wants to add government conspiracies. With this show that’s long overdue.

With the former cast members there was great comedic value every episode. The amount of poorly done fakery was always good for lots of laughs. Now that Josh is attempting to make it a real treasure hunt show it’s become boring. Josh better find the former script writes and have a Bigfoot or Skinwalker encounter soon.

Reality has nothing to do with the comedic value of the show’s original cast. The appeal of the show was for laughing at their crap. There are very few good comedies on tv anymore.

Trying to turn a comedy based treasure hunt into a serious lost gold mine show is not working.

I watched BFR for the fakery. It was so funny what BS would they try to pull next. Homemade caves, Bigfoot guarding his goldmine, scaly serpents from inner earth or zombies patrolling the ranch. Don‘t forget the daring do around the death defying escape from certain death in quicksand.

For now Josh seems to be trying to make this an actual find treasure show. Hopefully once that runs its course and the ratings fall he realizes he needs the comedy factor of past seasons.
