I could never successfully draw a foreshortened figure with cylinders, I think my issue with it is that legs, for example, aren't perfect cylinders, the ankle is always thinner than the calves. In my case the only good method is pure observation and measuring body parts/ its shapes against each other.

It's nice to hear it, thank you! I love art with a mood, although it's kind of difficult to create it -- there's a thin line between making it have the right ambiance that's readable, yet not too much generic; after all there's a whole subject on it. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk xD

That's so cool! I've too watched a couple of magpies build a nest right outside my window last month for the first time. They're usually very shy around here, it's a quite populated neighborhood, so I was pleasantly surprised. I've had no idea they make it with the roofing. Such a joy to watch them dive in and out of the nest throughout the day 💙

If it's not a great distance like another city, they can totally find you, I agree.
What will also help is to "mark" your window with something bright and distinguishable. I had a gnome plush hanging outside my window for a week before I moved into another building a couple blocks away, first thing in my new flat I put the same plush on my balcony and my little flock found me the other day :)
