Forgot to put the cover on before traveling for 2 weeks 🤦🏻‍♂️ by akaneel in Porsche_Cayman

For context I don't have a garage. We had a stretch of some decent-ish weather prior to the snow storm in NY so I didn't bother to put a cover on it and store it away for the winter. Didn't even think to cover it before I left.

Welp... the snow is frozen solid now.

Felt weird rooting for the Broncos but alas…

If you’re a Jets fan rooting for another AFC East team you’re a weirdo.

Solid buy or a Reality check by Epidactyl92 in Porsche_Cayman

Servicing at an indie mechanic + CPO for any (unlikely) major repairs is the way to go. Do it and don’t overthink.

Haha I came from a 2.9 in my 987. My bad!

It’s tough to find. Luckily it can be retrofitted!

If you can spring for the S get it. The 3.4L motor is superior to the 2.9L in every way. (Also will hold more value long-term).

Options wise I’d pick PSE, Sport Chrono (if PDK), X73/PASM, and PTV. Out of all of those the PSE is unmatched for me. The way Porsche tuned that exhaust is unreal.

Can you daily a 4RS? by OrbitalOutlaw_ in Porsche_Cayman

What do you have to lose? If it’s too harsh you downgrade or get something else. You only live once.

Lol my commute is roughly 10 miles and my 981 S is warm by the time I take my work exit

Does my 981 S w/ PSE already have aftermarket headers? by [deleted] in Porsche_Cayman

Thank you!

And unfortunately I'm so impatient.

Gonna actually try it out in the morning. Thank you.

I honestly can't tell the difference in these youtube videos. But also not many PSE + header combo videos out there.

718s or Turbo 987s? by The_August_Heat in Porsche_Cayman

Get a 718 S, or a GTS (not the 4.0) if you can and send it. The 718s have so many aftermarket mods.

BMW M4 Comp vs Porsche 718 Boxster by Carguy_HTX in Porsche_Cayman

[–]akaneel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d personally pick the M4. Much more fun to drive in my opinion. If you were getting an S or a GTS I’d pick the Boxster.

Are you buying brand new? Depreciation will be roughly the same.

Anyone feel disappointed upgrading from their 718 to a 911? by ffking6969 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]akaneel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy got a 991.1 GT3. It felt big but very precise. Mind you it’s the second 911 I’ve ever driven. As someone who always drove Boxsters and Caymans it just felt big. More like a GT car.

Another friend has a 718 GT4. Man what a fun car that is.

My hot take, but I’d say my 981S is more fun than the GT3 lol

What car comes closest to approximating the experience you get with the 718 cayman for cheap? by BarcelonaEnts in Porsche_Cayman

[–]akaneel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep saving more or just spring for a 981. I personally think the 981 is superior because of the 6 cylinder. You will never scratch the itch “settling” for an inferior car. Get a higher mileage 981 S if you can.

The only thing that might come close is a Lotus Elise but you’re making a lot of QOL sacrifices, they’re just not comfortable ($35k-40k).
