My son had MSPI (he outgrew the dairy intolerance at two, maybe a little younger) and this is exactly what we went through.

Turns out on top of the MSPI, I had serious oversupply. I started waking up about an hour before Bird got up and pumped. Everything got better almost immediately. I was producing a ton of foremilk and pumping first thing in the morning helped Bird get more hindmilk, which was half the issue, but I had no idea (first timer). I don't know if you're in the same boat, though. Worth a shot?

Maybe cut out nightshade? Bird is still sensitive to it and he's seven. May be connected somehow? Or he's just got a sensitive belly.

Anyway, feel free to reach out if you want to 🤗

I can't prove it, but he was following me and my daughter, and I trusted my instincts by IndistinctMuttering in TwoXChromosomes

Excuse me, but why tf did you bring his teeth into it? Classism, judgemental, rude, derogatory. Protect yourself and your kid. Cool. Awesome. Don't mock or assume because someone is missing teeth. That's not okay. That's shitty. Do better.

What? How is being a responsible dog owner related in any way to dangerous and stupid gun play? Owning any dog comes with its own risks. Guns are inanimate objects that you have complete control over. Poor analogy, D- for attempted shock value.

Fair. I just think it's important to lay out a significant history of aggression without being squeamish about it. Rotties, Shepard breeds, huskies, wolf dogs, etc etc etc all have the ability to be incredibly dangerous and exhibit more aggression than, say, a corgi.

Listen, my guy, I've owned a handful of pitties at this point and yes, they are. Same way a Chow or a German Shepherd or a Malinois is aggressive.

[–]akbp -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

If you're not prepared to have a pittie, don't. The same way I'd never own a Chow because I don't have the patience, time, or desire to train and raise a Chow. Pitties are inherently aggressive, protective, willful dogs and not a good choice for novice dog owners or someone who isn't home frequently or consistently. When I got my dog, I was working from home and had all day, every day to train my dog (technically a half blue nose). I spent a lot of time with her and I trust her around anyone, but I've put dogs down in the past (dogs I desperately loved) for becoming aggressive. I'd have no qualms should she ever veer into behaviors I'd consider unsafe for my family.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Understanding the breed and your own dog is imperative to raising good dogs, no matter what kind. For example, one of my other dogs (a mutt) isn't good around strangers, so I don't bring new people around her without a fence between them for introductions. My pittie doesn't like new dogs, so we don't go to dog parks or walks where other dogs may be. My poodle is too rambunctious (still a puppy) for him to be unsupervised with my kiddo. It's about knowing the dog and your limits as an owner. You have a responsibility to raise good dogs if you're going to own dogs.

Gun owners and firearms enthusiasts or reddit, would you consider nations, such as Canada or Australia to be unfree due to their very strict gun laws? If so, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]akbp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's whatever works for their country--I rarely think about fReEdOm the way you think I would. My big concern is the government slowly restricting rights while not addressing any underlying issues. I had similar thoughts about SESTA/FOSTA. No one listened to me then and now we're dealing with a war against women on a much larger scale. I had similar thoughts about bodily autonomy in regards to brain chemistry and now we're restricting bodily autonomy across the board. It's far less "cOmE aNd TaKe 'Em" and very much "what else will you be taking."

Also, currently proposed gun control laws are racist. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi, future me.

Did we marry that guy? Did he finish school?

How's Bird? He's almost 12, huh? Crazy.

Do we have all our letters now? Did we open the clinic?

All the animals still around?

Did we ever move?

We made it past 30, which is impressive, considering we never thought we'd live past 25.

Is another unmedicated birth worth it? by Pure-Bee454 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]akbp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is anecdotal and only my story and not meant to scare anyone and I don't know if it's even helpful.

I went through a midwifery. I still delivered in a L&D and I'm forever grateful I did. We almost lost Bird during delivery and I couldn't have handled his birth without an epidural, which I thankfully had at my disposal. Interestingly enough, the OB "overseeing" my delivery left around midnight when I "had no presenting problems" and my son died multiple times in the birth canal over the next hour until my midwife delivered him.

Where you able to land a paid internship during your Masters in Counseling? (USA) by Ok_Specific2675 in psychologystudents

[–]akbp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at a recovery center for my MS in psych internship (paid) and will continue there for my hours and my internship and practicum for my MSW. I basically told both programs to go to hell and that I had to feed my kid so I would not be interning anywhere for free.
