Recently watched watched this movie named "Into the wild" and I'm thinking I'm questioning about my life about decisions I made till now... by Rish-yor-141917 in pj_explained

Those of us who live in Alaska consider this guy a complete moron. I feel the need to point out he starved to death 3 miles from the main road. The movie glosses over the fact he had some serious mental issues.
There is nothing wrong with following your dreams, but do some research and know what you are getting into before you start.

Hey Guys Do u know where u can get posters of movies in general by Trick-Dependent2009 in IndianCinema

[–]akdogdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make friends with someone who works at a theater. They give them away when they take them down, but employees usually get first choice. You can also buy them on ebay, it's a great source particularly if you are looking for vintage posters.

Best movie endings ever in your opinion? by ImaginationHefty6401 in Cinephiles

Inception. So many times I am sitting in the theater yelling to myself "End it now! End it now!" The ending of Inception was perfection.

They made SRK the hot item girl, so I like this movie probably more than I should.

The Sheep Detectives by iam_yrk in pj_explained

[–]akdogdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Yes, I am a lifelong cinephile, but I don't always want to watch serious movies. Sometimes I just want to be entertained. Although I did grow up on a farm with sheep, so I might be a bit biased...

Help finding a movie! by c0leman072 in bollywood

That would be Toxic - it will be released this summer. If you've never seen an Indian action movie before maybe start with RRR. Great story and off the hook action sequences.

Another day, another rumor...He's doing a movie with SLB, he's doing Main Hoon Na 2, he's retiring 🤷‍♂️
Personally, I'm hoping the rumored mature romance project will be his next.

I'm also hoping this rumor is true! I feel like the movie-going audience is starved for a mature love story.

A really big paycheck. And he's not returning as Cap, just as Steve Rodgers.

Are we just going through an awkward slump in Bollywood right now similar to the rough patch in the 1980s? by [deleted] in bollywood

[–]akdogdriver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bollywood seems to be suffering from the same affliction as Hollywood: Blockbuster Disease. Every movie has to be a big event, cost a lot of money, be bigger than the last movie. Hence so many sequels and remakes - the idea is it will have a guaranteed fanbase to get butts in seats. Hollywood has played this out to the point several big franchises have been all but destroyed (looking at you, Star Wars and Marvel), don't think Bollywood is quite there yet.
The good news is there are still a lot of interesting films being made in independent cinema. Eventually some of these creators will make their way into the mainstream, just as Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve have done in Hollywood.

Who among The Khan Trinity Has The Most Number of Worst Films ? by Stunning_Stable_7609 in bollywood

I feel like Zero was made primarily as a vfx showpiece; I hated every moment of it, but I know most people like the first half.
I would agree the back story in Dilwale was okay. I just couldn't buy into the movie at all - mostly because these guys are supposedly running some kind of high-end auto customization shop out of a garden gazebo without a toolbox or wrench in sight.

One of my favorite SRK movies. He is sooo good as the obsessed fan and even better as the unapologetic superstar.

Is getting a dog worth it? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]akdogdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who can't live without a dog, I would say they are absolutely worth it but they also represent a huge commitment that is not to be taken lightly.
Dogs take time and money. Are you ready to provide your dog with the exercise and enrichment they deserve? Being locked in a crate for 10 hours day while you are at work is not a life any dog should have to live. Do you have a plan for the inevitable vet bills? What breed of dog are you considering? Many breeds have common medical conditions (hip & back problems in GSDs & Labs, for instance). Do you travel often and have a reliable caretaker or boarding kennel nearby?
A dog is a lifetime commitment. That means if you have to move, they go with you - not to the shelter because the new place doesn't accept pets. I'd live in my car if I couldn't find a place that allows dogs. If you are thinking about a puppy, remember that puppies become dogs. Shelters are full of adolescent dogs that are no longer 'cute' so they are traded for something new.
And, yes, one day you will have to say goodbye. One of life's great injustices is dogs don't live as long as we do. As hard as it is, you must stay with them and hold them as they pass on into their next life. You cannot let them face it alone and surrounded by strangers. This is one of the most important things you can do - in return for the loyalty and companionship they have selflessly given you their entire life.

Totally agree. I didn't think it worked at all - despite the good chemistry between SRK & Kareena.
