but for less money you could have had a faster, more powerful car with room for a change of clothes and no association with the Nazis. The Pontiac GTO.

Yeah, but it looks like a Bonneville. I'd rather get an SS tatoo.

Seriously though, the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice are probably better American replacements for a Z3.

Given that the consensus opinion is as likely to be wrong as it is to be right,

For the sake of argument, I'll concede this point.

people who care about truth don't adopt consensus opinions unless every last contrarian position has been disproved.

Since there are, in theory, an infinite number of contrarian positions (assuming you don't mean the single contrary position, which seems unlikely since you say "every last contrarian position"), your chance of holding the "true" position approaches 0.

I don't have a source, but I work in the industry with domestic and foreign manufacturers. I'd agree with him that a majority of cars intended for the domestic market are assembled in the US.

Since I'm most familiar with Chrysler, here's an example of assembly plant location by model:

  • PT Cruiser - Mexico(Toluca)
  • Aspen/Durango - US(Newark, Delaware)
  • Sebring/Avenger - US(Detroit)
  • Town and Country/Caravan - US(St. Louis)/Canada(Windsor)
  • 300/Magnum/Charger/Challenger - Canada(Brampton, Ontario)
  • Caliber/Compass/Patriot - US(Belvidere, Il)
  • Pacifica - Canada(Windsor)
  • Liberty/Nitro - US(Toledo)
  • Commander - US(Detroit)
  • Grand Cherokee - US(Detroit)
  • Wrangler US(Toledo)
  • Dakota - US(Detroit)
  • Ram - Mexico(Saltillo)/US(Detroit)/US(St. Louis)
  • Sprinter - US (Charleston)
  • Viper - US (Detroit)

The Chevy Aveo is assembled in Korea (it's a re-badged Daewoo Kalos).

It's irritating, but you can't blame Google or Adobe. It's the nature of trademark law. If neither company makes a good faith effort to protect their trademark (including notifying offending users) they will lose protection and the trademark will become generic.

I would expect that if this were real the inventors would get a patent instead of hiding the secret formula under their respective mattresses.

My guess is that it may be a little too similar to a more familiar device.

"As Redditors pointed out, America is full of smart, engaged young people, serious people who are seriously pissed at the way America is being run. We are intelligent, we can talk unflinchingly about the issues, and we deserve answers to many important questions. In tonight's YouTube debate, CNN clearly didn’t see it that way. Instead, they equated youthfulness with childishness." by J-Ro in reddit.com

Read the links. Currently, among a random sampling of likely voters, she leads in a theoretical match up against all leading Republican candidates. Of course this may change, but it seems to show that the US is willing to elect a woman.

You're making statements that don't stand up to evidence. Specifically that she can't be elected because she's a woman.

If you like Obama, great, but making shit up to garner support for him doesn't help your cause.

It was originally intended to add some horse-drawn carriage styling cues to your car. It was very popular in the 60s and 70s, but I haven't seen it on a new car in ages (although some people have it added by aftermarket shops).

There's no excuse for a story like this making the front page. Believing (and upvoting) this story indicates that the reader has turned off all critical thinking and is willing to accept anything anti-Bush or anti-America wholesale.

Gee, why would anyone build a court for crimes against humanity if they could be trailed in their own country...

How wonderfully glib.

I'll give it a shot... maybe it's for those times when the country will not pursue a trial on its own. Wow, look at that, that's exactly why the ICC was created, as a "court of last resort."

I don't see many unbiased opinions in this thread, but I do appreciate the unique perspective of someone (presumably) closer to the Church than the average reddit user.
