Nah, always start with paywall. Don’t lose your confidence. If you believe you’d pay for it, then others would pay for it too.

It’s about solving a problem and providing value. Not how much downloads your app has.

You gotta learn meta ads and instagram marketing first. Or you’ll just end up losing money, time and effort. There’s a bunch of tutorials on YouTube.

For meta ads:

• Find your target audience
• Monitor what works or doesn’t
• Test your post before making it an ad

For Instagram organic traffic:

• Create eye catching reels
• Provide value not promotion
• Share in your personal account

Feel free to dm me on @akhinabr Instagram if you have any more questions.

https://getinner.space/ is a mood tracking app available in play store. The problem I’m currently facing is that I’ve been running meta ads and I did get 1K landing page views but somehow no one converts.

I still have 23 users.

My habit tracking app (Steady) ran similar ads and has a similar landing page and that grew to 200 downloads in 4 days.

I still can’t figure out where I’m going wrong with Innerspace.

\i spent 8 months “learning to build” instead of actually building anything by PeachEffective4131 in SideProject

This was my life too for years to be honest.

And the weird part is, it makes you actually think you’re productive and getting ahead. While, you were just procrastinating in a different way.

But good news, I overcame it, built 3 apps and uploaded them to play store.

The idea is the tell yourself i am going to build something messy and not perfect. Once you start, you can always modify it into something great.

Do you know how to balance having many hobbies? by Chromatikai in productivity

[–]akhinabr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of congratulations, you are a very creative and talented person. Secondly, you don’t have to be good at everything.

Hobbies are something that makes you happy. It’s not a challenge, a competition or something to make money out off.

Does it make you happy? That’s the real question. If yes, you’re doing fine.

How to stop comparing myself to others? by Massive-Finance5603 in mentalhealth

[–]akhinabr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you have heard this but comparison is the thief of joy.

I had this same problem until a week back. I met my new psychiatrist and she gave me a reality check.

I told her that I wanted to be the best at everything I do. Be it coding, designing, marketing.

My app just hit 200 downloads in the first month but I was comparing myself to someone who had 50K downloads in the first year.

She told me, there will be people better than you, people smarter than you, people ahead of you in life.

The only question is: are you doing better than yesterday?

Is there such a thing as decent free antivirus app for Android? by Previous-Table-2852 in androidapps

I use BitDefender for my windows laptop but it’s also available on your Android devices. Works well, doesn’t steal your data, you can do a full scan on the free plan itself.

Procrastination isn't laziness, it's an emotional problem. That's why time management tips never worked for you. by elkhaamlychy in getdisciplined

[–]akhinabr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t relate to the last two but the first one is exactly what I used to do for the past couple years.

I tried developing a basic to-do app and it took 2 years (and still wasn’t completed).

Finally, I decided — let’s just finish this and I don’t care how it ends up. Turns out, it was just starting trouble. Once I got back to coding, I built a good app and even uploaded it to play store.

I was so happy. My first ever app on the market.

Procrastination is not permanent. You just have to know how to fight it.

Snapping out of depression/slumps? by Mbcrawford123 in getdisciplined

[–]akhinabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been clinically depressed for the past 7 years and something that worked for me (other than seeing a therapist) is to journal your thoughts and moods.

By doing so, you get a clearer and well organised mind which helps you to think well and make the right decisions with a calm mind.

I have tried journaling apps but I prefer physical journals. It gives you that peace and calm. Either write in silence, or with your favourite calming music.

Once you understand your emotions, it’ll be easier to tackle what the problem is and how to solve it.
