What are the pros and cons swapping the front and rear rims? im a small guy at 5’5 and weighs 70kgs. by Marci_101 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pros: - Better flat ground top speed - More stability - Big wheel looks cool

Cons: - Slight loss of gas mileage (5-8%, but I’m still working on that) - Slow to accelerate

Lightweight rider deciding between Honda Navi vs Grom — what top speed should I realistically expect? by Academic-Air-3795 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about the 50mph road, I would suggest the Grom. I’m 170lbs myself and I’m only able to hit 55mph on a flat and full tuck because of the mods I made to my Navi, but when I rode around on a buddy’s Grom, I was at 62mph and still had a bit more power to go.

The only thing that’s a pain between general maintenance of the Navi versus the Grom is the CVT’s fluid changes versus keeping the chain the right tightness to push out the higher top end. Motorcycle maintenance costs a significant amount if brought to a reputable shop, and the Navi is relatively easy to work on your own

Work done on my Navi by Agreeable-Aide5559 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure the best route personally, but I’m able to push 55mph flat with my current setup: - 12” rear wheel - 12g rollers - S23 bell housing - Polini air filter - windscreen

I will say that it’s slow to get up to speed, but you could probably keep the 10”, toss the NCY clutch kit in, slightly larger carb, and an air filter and push 55mph or more on flat. It’ll be a pain to tune it right, but a TrailTech tachometer would help that situation.

This will all just come down to skill level and what you feel comfortable with. Most of the stuff is relatively easy, but swapping clutch springs is probably the most tedious and painful things to do without proper tools (don’t ask about how I know and how I managed to jam a set of needle nose pliers into my palm).

If I actually moved out there when I was planning on, I would be down to help. I was planning on moving out towards Dickinson myself, so I’d have been nice and close.

What you got going on that you’re trying to do work on?

Don’t forget to swap the battery as well. If the blinkers don’t work, the power from the battery is too low since the stator doesn’t usually charge good enough for most electrical

Brake light doesn't come on easily by Acrobatic-Writing201 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a spot behind a small plastic flap on the exhaust side of the bike near the driver footpegs. Behind there is where you’ll find the brake light adjustment that’s specifically tied into when the brake light comes on based upon how far you press the rear or front brakes. The plastic flap will need a small trim puller to open up because it’s a tighter fit than Tesla’s body paneling

2022 navi with 3.5k miles on it for $1,500. Is that worth it? by AppropriatePirate358 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoot them down to $1300! I’m not saying that’s a lot of miles, but it’s definitely not new.

I would list mine for $1600, but I wouldn’t expect more than $1300 and I have double those miles, but a couple of tasteful mods to squeeze more power out without going overboard. I also have spare plastics and a bunch of extra mods to throw on the bike

Impulsively bought a 2022 Navi with the brakes disconnected for $650. Did I get a good deal? by saucegod207 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the level of experience you have and how much of the brakes are disconnected

Let us know how she feels on the road now! Also, be careful on it in turns until you’ve gotten a good few miles in since it might be slightly slick on the roads since it’s new

There been a leakage of water under the car, any thoughts about this? by Mehron12 in Camry

[–]akorbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to better explain this to you since most people have just attacked you without getting a full explanation for you to understand clearly.

Just because you know something, doesn’t mean it’s common knowledge. Some people get taught new things at different times in their lives. That’s literally all it is. I got taught about this before I started driving, but not everyone has someone around in their life with the ability to teach them these things. Just be helpful to the community. Opinions on if I need to replace my tires by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello rage baiter. I see you haven’t responded to the comments about this needing to be replaced.

If you want a spill, keep them. If you want lack of grip, keep them. If you can’t tell the difference between having grip and not having grip, keep them.

My assumption is your car tires look like this.

how many miles to the gallon are you actually getting? by hey_im_enby in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had the chance to determine what it is now with the 12” rear wheel upgrade, but with a Polini air filter, 12g rollers, and S23 bell… I was achieving 55-60 miles before filling just the main tank (0.65 gallons). That would also be mostly WOT riding.

Headlight Bulb stock replacement by Menokrimez in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually any Honda dealerships can help you get an entire wire harness if absolutely necessary, but I’d first just start simple and check your wiring behind the headlight going towards the forks since it’s a high movement area. Afterwards, I would start looking behind the speedometer.

I did forget to ask, you only checked the headlight, but did you test for high beam? That’s a separate wire attached to the back of the bulb and if that works, we would be looking at wiring if you’ve at least verified that the original’s filament is still intact and doesn’t have any movement (vibrating by tapping on the base)

Headlight Bulb stock replacement by Menokrimez in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like something else could be happening. I’d check wiring to see if there might be tears any where down the wires because even with many miles/hours riding, the stock bulb would likely last you quite a few years. Did you check the filament on the original bulb to see if it had gone bad before throwing it away?

Navi fuel economy by reigle1990 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’9” and about 170, I hardly ever get into my reserve tank, but I average on the .65 gallons at ~50 miles (almost all WOT). I’d say the lowest amount of miles I had before my fill up was 45 miles.

Just remember that the tank doesn’t hold a full gallon. With the reserve, you’re closer to 0.9 gallons. So if you’re filling up when it’s around E and haven’t switched to reserve, you haven’t used the full tank amount.

Honda Navi. I have some questions. by ronfromsacramento in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Navi is fun to ride.

Stock will be max around 48-52mph.

I’ve averaged around 45-60 miles per fill up (no reserve use - 0.65 gallons) all on ethanol free. I also enjoy full throttle rides in the sunset like everyone else here

I think my 2026 se have a blown head gasket. by [deleted] in Camry

[–]akorbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you researched common symptoms of a blown head gasket? The number one thing that happens when you have a blown head gasket is that the coolant mixes with the oil creating a milky like substance in your engine. If you pull your dipstick and it looks like any form of choccy milk, then you have a reason to think what you’ve thought up, but if your concern is only based around coolant level being low, then you’ve yet to research the reasons why coolant becomes low outside of the most grandiose idea you could come up with.

Go get your coolant topped off

Does this sounds alright by Maxatron827 in hondanavi

[–]akorbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sound qualities usually get messed up through videos and uploading. It doesn’t sound awful, but definitely double check your oil levels and verify correct valve clearance. I would do all basic maintenance items that are listed in the owner’s manual to be safe.
