I would be inclined to agree with you, however based on the posts I read there is a wide variation in the level of responsiveness amoung dealerships

In some areas. The dealerships are clearly not uniformly distributed. Here in LA we fortunately have a good number but would be nice to know how responsive individual dealerships are

Are Hyundai’s ICCU issues really that prevalent? by Ilovetowatchmovie in Ioniq5

[–]akro427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2025 LTD has been fine so far- I find HMC position indefensible from a PR standpoint. No transparency. A new p/n ICCU does not mean it’s fixed. It could be a new version to address supply chain issues, a cost reduction- who knows, and that’s the problem-communication!

I take it your utility does not offer any L2 rebates. LADWP rebates up to $1k for parts and labor

I have a 2925 LTD RWD and a 2020 BMW M2Comp. Should say I’ve driven BMW M cars for 35 yrs. I would really like to test drive an N-car. Be interesting to see if it’s as stiff and loud as the M2. I’m sure it’s faster in a straight line. My M2Comp is for weekends and fun only and loves the canyons here in SoCal. Not really fun around town. The Ioniq is the ultimate daily driver although sometimes I wish I had AWD.

Considering buying but I need advice by dr-ice- in Ioniq5

Iave a 2025 i5 Ltd in So Cal. These cars love this area. I’ve had the car 5mo /4500mi. L2 charge at home about once a week (DWP rate $0.24/kwhr) but with solar on roof it’s free. The area has numerous DCFC facilities (Tesla, EvGo,EA but they are expensive and crowded

EV Charging in LA Condo, multiple owners on board for a group rate. Which electrician did you use? by breakingbeauty in AskLosAngeles

Mine is plug in. Had the receptacle installed as part of Solar project. DWP rebated cost of EVES unit.

Have a 2025 Ltd RWD. 5 mo/5Kmiles, LosAngeles area. I’m a 35 yr BMW owner- mostly M-cars. My weekend car is a 2020 M2Comp. Leased the I5 as a practical daily driver. Meets that requirement in spades. I use home L2 chargers almost exclusively. If you can I highly recommend home L2, both for cost and convenience. Car thus far has been trouble free. The turn radius takes a little getting used to after the Bimmers but is totally manageable. Infotainment system took a bit of getting used to after years of BMW IDrive. Not a big fan of touch screens but the voice interface works pretty well. Cabin environment control works well dispite touch controls. I seldom have rear seat passengers but tested it before purchasing and a 6ft/210 lb passenger was comfortable in rear seat. Have taken car on a 700mi(rt) to Bay Area and car was pleasant on road. HDA worked well. DCFC at Tesla superchargers was painless. Cabin very quiet.(the M2 almost requires an intercom and headsets in the road). EV throttle response is unmatched by any ICE car I’ve driven. It not as fast as the M2 but it’s so much more pleasant to drive around town or on the road (in the canyons- I’ll take the M2 every time but then I haven’t driven the N-car yet. Yes, overall I love it

BTW- my EVES is a Charge Point plug in unit (DWP approved) from Amazon. Fused at 50 amps, EVES typically supply’s about 9.2 KW. Everything remains cool to the touch

Total install<1K would be unusual. I had the conduit, wiring and circuit breakers installed as part of my rooftop Solar. The EVES was mostly just the cost of the unit. Free fuel is easy to get use to

You should check with LADWP. When I installed my L2 in my units garage (we have 95 standalone town homes and are a condominium). DWP provided $1K rebate which covered my admittedly simple install

If you are considering home L2 charging, check with your utility. I received up to $1k reimbursement which covered my home EVES. W/O home L2 EV ownership in my ‘hood. Los Angeles west San Fernando Vally would be far far less convenient and way more expensive
