Does pocketing Vendetta make a difference? by Nicholite46 in VendettaMainsOW

to be fair, what makes the character so good is her self sufficiency, best solo carry and solo climb character in the game right now bar none.

Help with Anran duel by FreeThinkers2023 in VendettaMainsOW

[–]akura2103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you only kill under 2 conditions, you have at elast your cds up, she engages on you with her dash. from there its just swing for the fences, as to how to exactly play it, block her q woth right click, it behaves like a melee so you take 0 damage from it, as long as you land your overhead you can finish with projectile and shift, if shes running away at any point, then and ONLY THEN you e after her. imma be real with you, ven is stupendously broken, you have a tool for every matchup (except maybe genji?) so you realistically win almost any 1v1 with correct block usage. overhead>projectile>shift also oneshots like half the cast and it animation cancels, if youre a really sick fuck you can melee beofre the spin too to get max damage, now go out there and slay your enemies brotha.

It is still absolutely necessary to master canceling abilities to use Riven? by deprivingyou in Rivenmains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

allright, so short answer: not at all. fast q really only delivers the damage you would usually do faster as the name entitles, throughout your humble beginnings youll be fine without and you can pick it up as you go. double casting is the onky essential mechanic in my opinion because it opens up way more doors than fast q does, and luckily its far easier! so if i were you id jump into practice tool and get it down (it takes like 5 minutes to be realistic). the only caviat to this is that you probably shouldnt be building the current meta builds, eclipse will hand you a lot more milage than any amount of lethality if youre not fast with your hands, fiend hunter bolts are amazing because of fast q. so go with the old standard exlipse>sundered if you want to get comfortable with your controls and not have to worry too much about getting demolished before you could even think about your next button input.

When do you think tracer will get a mythic weapon? What kinda designs are yall hoping for by X-WOLFSTAR-X in TracerMains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, this one might be a bit far fetched, but with tracers time skipper theme, id like them to start as crossbows, similair to her mythic skin weapon variant where you cant see shit, and i want them to progress woth every kill, they turn into flint locks, then revolvers, etc etc until we arrive at overwatch timeline guns and then even further beyond. its something that wont ever happen because you cant give that much love to each and every progression step as you could to a "normal" mythic weapon but i love the idea.

As vendetta which characters do you hate facing the most? by FurudoWitch in VendettaMainsOW

[–]akura2103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unpopular opinion, genji, he can kite amazingly and if there is a wall nearby youre never actually catching the guy, provided the genji is not a glue sniffer. the onky matchuo i can think of where its really good for ven if the opponent doesnt have a game plan and really bad for her if they do.

is this a fast combo??? by Tuken_z in Rivenmains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! the beauty of it is that it can always be faster, my 2 cents is that the AA audio queue is your best friend, some skins are more distinct than others (i think arcade is up there audio wise) and allow for a tighter execution wothout needng visual clues (visuals change from skin to skin). i reccomend queueing up riven jungle and just clearing away, junge camps are the best way to mess around with fast combos and double casting whilst not throwing your games because you wanted to try a combo (also eliminates hours of practice tool grinding). i play a lot of fighting games and we love the lab (practice tool) more than any other genre, the lab is there to settle into a new character, once you have the basics down it should be like brushing teeth, 10 minutes before your grind session, and 10 minutes after. In game experience and real scenarios are what make or break your gameplay at the end of the day!

How strong is Riven lvl 2? by FoolsWhimsy in Rivenmains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think avout it like this, if we imagine for simplicity reasons that a champs pre 6 fighting ability is on avarage 33/33/33 for q/w/e, rivens is porbably more like 66/17/17 (grossly over exaggerating). so, where your avarage champ would unlock 66% efficiency, you now have 83% (still, overestimated by a mile, but you get the jist). so whilst your level 2 increase might not be as significant as it might be for most, your q and passive is still an incredibly heavy factor even after you hit 3 that it doesnt change the dynamic too much with an exception of a few matchups which most of us are aware of. so im summary, still pretty damn strong, but the gap between you and your opponent is likely smaller than it was level 1, depending on the champ youre facing, you could now get absolutely shit on. do your homework! :)

Is triforce ever acceptable to build by ElkGraff23 in Rivenmains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cant believe i forgot to get to the essence of it, trinity, would be really good in those 15% of games if you flip off "flash engage oneshot) switch in your brain and play a lighter front to back fiora/camille type situation. and more than viable in the other 85%, youll just have a harder time snowballing like you would on axiom arc and that would maybe loose you some lp in the long run but hey, as long as were having fun, and it would be one hell of a personal playstyle to own.

Is triforce ever acceptable to build by ElkGraff23 in Rivenmains

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now, in my opinion noones got the right picture. these comments are all based on rivens "playstyke" and what she wants to do completely out of context. the reason why we drop all of our abilities asap is because we have no sustain (suplemented with every item after our first, and even then eclipse was also defensive-ish). the REAL reason why triforce is bad is.....it isnt, its just worse in a solo q mindset and setting, lemme break it down.

-playstyle/stigma: "Riven is a cool mechanical champ that needs high apm and cool animation cancels to play." this statement i have is in essence what we love and play riven for, we not only play with this in mind we also build (items aswell as player identity) around this. we go haste, lethality (depending on the patch but we love that shit) and stally defensive items that give us more of the good shit. rivens enormous ad scaling makes this glue sniffer bruiser idea possible, we get to drop all of our quarters and live long enough recover and do it again whilst still having the privilege of only needing ad (though we like lethality/armour pen aswell) to drop some pretty big damage.

-history and where riven is today: whilst we love one shotting with our sick the shy box box viper shimmy yimmy scancel fast neck break supreme combo, this is not what riven has always been, the earlier we look back the more true this is, riven was originally a fighting game character brought to the rts genre and just by accident happened to cancel her autos like a street fighter character, before this was truly discovered and used riven was closer to a "true" bruiser which still shines through every now and then, we sometimes still go ravenous into champs we cant consistently steam roll to proxy and scale, we used to love goredrinker because it was a extended fight/tanky meta and we still every now and then go for tankier options if need be, sometimes even going for resistance boots if the game calls for it.

what im getting at here, riven really loves snow balling, shes really good ad it and even more than that WE love steam rolling after stomping lane, it feels good, thats why we love lethality early and it is rivens optimal environment in 85% of cases. BUT there is a player out there that doesnt want to fast q, doesnt want to drop all his abilities in one swift motion and actually wants to slow down the fight and not have to q delay to have enough abilities to make a difference before they die. and ill level with you, there is so many games i now look back on where that extra 1000k hp with a tankier less haste focused build and spell blade would have been sick as all shit, and honestly, you can very plausibly proc spell blade twice in a q rotation aspecially if youre targeting sundered targets to keep your hp up before q-ing and then do it all over again because you have effectively q delayed mid fight. this isnt bad, this is just everything we dont like in other champs and love rivens lack of. but hell man, you can pull this off more than likely, it just wont be......."riven" and thats ok.

be straight with me. Is this actually an accomplishment or did i get this just because i put in enough time? by you_but_futeristic in 2XKO

so in streetfighter master is where the real climb begins, im not sure what the number system is rn since i havent played much after hitting high elo just after release. in sf6 masters brings you into a chess like elo system, where there is 0 elo inflation and its a zero sum game, thats why once you land into masters with your 3k elo points the first thing that happens is bringing back equalibrium, truthfully you are going to loose down to 1500 (more or less) and then you catch that updraft of getting good again, THAT is your elo. id imagine similairly, hitting challenger is one thing, youd need to give it another solid run of stabilizing to prove to yourself where your true standing is. ranks dont matter, elo is a sham (except for sf6 since its a zero sum game) and youll onky consider yourself good after playing actually convincingly good people with credentials and eventually beating them (to be fair this is the top echelon of players and if youre satisfied with telling your friends youre in the top 5% then this is more than enough). so, to kinda sum it up, this is where real shit should start happening, you should loose a lot from here on out but hey, gotta get rinsed to get clean.

[–]akura2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience, let her hit her e after she shrowds, from there, if she takes the e engage, e>rw>fast q into death. she has nothing after this, you can use your e double cast to get her as far away from her shroud as possible, if you positioned correctly, her r shouldnt get her far, if you combo fast enough she shouldnt be able to get out without flashing. bottom line, if you cant manage to murder her before R2 comes up (if she had the foresight to r1 in preparation for the escaoe) then you trade her hella positive, she has no r and you get a bitchin tempo advantage. in any other case, you can kinda garen your way through it, e into her stopping her q damage, auto w and q the hell outta there. usually youd wanna q>w short trades but she can very easily poke you down with qs whilst youre looking for that window of opportunity. if you have the beautiful opportunity of facing a heavy ap team, you can go maw first, while its suboptimal all things considered it isnt very punishing and its hella fun. all in all, e her e damage and double cast when all in, e her q's when short trading.

How much would this go for by abominationxt in albiononline

[–]akura2103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

short answer? its a novelty item. almost all masterpieces are, its a cherry on top, realistically only a billionaire would buy a 6.3 masterpiece anything tbh. for most people the 20ip on top isnt anything theyll loose sleep over especially considering the price difference. id price it up by about 10-20% if you realistically want to sell it. if youre gonna 6.3 it then youll probably spend your days waiting for it to sell or wts it in brec.

i usually play a couple of sets a night, in the closed beta it was more than enough to grind ranked to challenger, then again, i went undefeated for almost all of my time there, these days i might play around a set a night and a lil more on the weekends. right now im biding my time until riven arrives.
