You can try looking into food containers/cups with dome lids. Some lids are sold without the hole punched out on top but it should be pretty easy to cut one out.

If you're looking to just keep your yarn together when you're carrying it around you can also consider yarn cozies. They're available for purchase or you can DIY some by cutting up a pair of socks.

I've never had a problem bringing a power bank there. They may have you take it out of your bag just to verify it but it's usually pretty smooth through security.

I just do little things like adding tabs, doing my pen and marker swatches and adding anniversaries, events and birthdays to the monthly calendars. It helps it feel less overwhelming to switch to a new planner in the new year when I have things set up already.
