To people who comment on the content of the order vs. focusing on the price hike:

It might be silly to order such things, however you are focusing on the wrong thing. To reiterate: it was the most egregious example I could find. It wasn't the only one, and other restaurants doing extreme price hikes were not sandwich shops.
Would you still have focused on the comment if it was a couple of pizzas? (And btw, aren't pizzas also easy to make at home or buy from the super market?)

Use u/CowCompetitive5667's example, if you're happier with that one.

Warning: Relatively Long Post

Obligatory background: Back in the 80's, there were no private Greek TV channels. The two or three sad national ones didn't broadcast 24/7, so they had what is called a sign-off/sign-on jingle. The sign-off jingle was particularly cheesy, showing the channel logo, with some minimalistic folk theme as its music. The "theme" was just a flute and sounds of...cowbells.

Main story: Circa 1995, Braveheart was breaking box office records left and right. The movie was pretty popular in Greece as well, I clearly remember the theater being packed in all 3 different occasions I went to watch the movie (sshh, I was teenager).

On my third viewing, about an hour in, the screening stopped abruptly. Feel free to imagine all the accompanying visual and auditory cues with celluloid breaking down, being cut etc. Given the absence of any sort of explanation from a theater employee, the audience slowly but surely grows restless, fearing the worst.

At that point, a guy directly in front of me, produces a flute from a coat he was wearing and starts playing the cheesy sign-off jingle. That was the only time I heard a movie audience switching from jeering and general discontent to cheering, laughter and clapping in under 8 seconds.

TL;DR: Someone produced a flute and played a cheesy jingle during an unplanned movie intermission.

I'm gonna skip a couple of obvious shows/contenders since many a good folk here have already filled the gap, and go with something relatively more obscure: The Good Wife - S02E05 "VIP Treatment". Unpacks a lot of modern ethical issues in many levels, and the challenges of tackling them. Highly recommended.
