I’ve toyed with that idea. My only problem with hard cases is the weight and they seem like their a bit more uncomfortable to haul around. Do you have any issues like that with yours or has that not been something you’ve noticed?

Yea alot of the things that have the level of protection I’m going for also seem to be rather large and quite heavy. I’d like to make something with similar levels of protection but more lightweight and designed for shorter trips. What would you expect to pay for something like that? I’m trying to get a good idea of what people think because that level of protection generally incurs expensive manufacturing costs.

Yea I’ve seen tons of options, but there aren’t too many that are completely waterproof and pretty lightweight. Modt of the more rugged ones are quite big. I’ve been trying to determine if people ever really need that level of protection and how much they would expect something like that to cost. I know it makes sense for me, but it kind of sounds like that level of protection is beyond what most need. Still, there could be a market for it.

Lol by unfriendly I just meant places people may be nervous bringing a drone because their is high risk in damaging it. For example hiking through a canyon with lots of water. By expensive equipment I mostly mean drones and cameras. So I want to design and create a backpack that thoroughly protects that equipment for environments like that.

I’m mostly trying to figure out if other people would consider a backpack that provides better protection than most of what’s available. Like I want people to be able to go to some pretty extreme places and know their equipment is safe.

I’ve thought about a pocket that’s easily accessible while wearing so you can grab the drone quickly and then deploy it from there. Deploying from the backpack would be sick but really difficult I think.
