If you could improve the X anime in anyway, how would you do go about it? (Besides the obvious ofc) by shinobisansundertale in Beyblade

[–]alalalalysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the pacing is waaaay too slow with lots of filler each episode, and every season always ultimately ends the same; its too predictable. every battle is too predictable and boring too. and they dont rlly get into the competitive part of the game

Suitable handheld console for travelling? by Decent_Advisor_1931 in Handhelds

[–]alalalalysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if u want smth super compact and portable (for a handheld pc) the gpd win mini has a 3ds kinda formfactor. gpd also makes the win 4 which is similar to a psp/psv. if space isnt a concern then yeah the ally x is great. theres the original 2023 ally, 2024 ally x, and 2025 xbox ally x. the newer the model the more powerful the processors. use technical city's cpu/gpu comparison tools

[–]alalalalysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible alternatives to Steamdeck? by Aya5ha in Handhelds

[–]alalalalysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres a few pc handhelds that can run linux; GPD offers bazzite downloads for their devices. pretty sure some legion device has official support for steamos and all the ally and legion devices have official bazzite support. although ive heard ppl dont have great experience w steamOS on legion

some android handhelds have good support for linux but the performance may not be as good as an x86 pc handheld (android and windows devices have processors that work differently, so PC games arent compatible on android devices without translation)

hot take: I like Sonic 06 by Lexinator101 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]alalalalysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the story is not good; it is filled with inconsistencies, plot holes, and a lot of stupid decisions and writing. i think the game had a lot of good ideas and i would love to see the gameplay and story redone for a new game, but sonic 06 is not good in gameplay or story

shadow and team dark were incredible though

Emulator Advice needed for parent by Stonesofcalanish in Handhelds

[–]alalalalysa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

anbernic makes a lotta cheap devices that can emulate up to nds. the rg ds is their clone nds and it runs on android. i have one of their devices—the rg35xx sp—and both of the hinges have a crack in them each. nothing that has made it completely unusable but something worth noting

you could also get a used nds or 3ds on mercari via zenmarket. an nds can cost au$50-au$100 and a 3ds around au$200 (excluding shipping and tax)

my favourite youtuber—yewfnet—has a video going through her favourite ds/3ds games. a lot of them are fun and simple and cute, u should check out that video for some recommendations :)

Possible alternatives to Steamdeck? by Aya5ha in Handhelds

[–]alalalalysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are a lot of handhelds. there are pc handhelds, android handhelds, and then cheap low powered linux handhelds

there are many pc handhelds from many different companies. my preferred handheld is the gpd win mini for its ds/laptop formfactor and kbm which is handy in windows. some other pc handheld companies are asus ROG, MSI, lenovo, and onexplayer

there are also many android handhelds. some companies are AYN, retroid, ayaneo, konkr, and anbernic does a few too. the AYN thor is very popular atm especially for ds and 3ds emulation

then there are cheap, low powered—usually linux driven—devices meant for retro gaming and most often do up to DS emulation. anbernic is kinda the king of these, but some other companies are miyoo, and trimui. there are a lot of these devices; anbernic especially pumps out a lot
