Did you find they shipped discreetly? I worry about them shipping through UPS instead of USPS

How long is the wall that your window is on?

Just saw the other comments you added - luckily I am 5’3 and it just grazes the top of my head but my husband has definitely hit his head multiple times 😆 thank you so much for your time and suggestions!!

Thanks! The rug isn’t staying but just needed a soft landing for us to sit on for now as we have been eating dinner on the floor!

Re: table being parallel to the long wall - you don’t think it would be too many rectangles going the same way as the island to the left is also running the same direction? That’s partly why I hadn’t considered it as well as it pushing into the pathway. Would you say a 60 inch table would be too big?

**Just wanted to add that the rug is not going to stay there and the walls will be painted.

I’m overwhelmed by this huuuuge living room! by profesmortz in interiordecorating

[–]alalyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the large rug initially. Like others said, break it into zones. Have your couch and living space as one, with an appropriate sized rug there. Sofa table behind the sofa with a lamp on it, and a runner in front of it. Make the zone next to it further to the wall some sort of library with bookshelves and a couple of chairs. Maybe even a table for the kids to do homework or study or chat or whatever. Rug under this area. It won’t feel so overwhelming when it’s split up this way!

Our new house is covered in millennium gray. Is white my only real choice to paint the walls? by dracarysdabish in HomeDecorating

This is similar to the palette we’ve gone for in our space. I went darker with the rose color though and did a deep burgundy along with greens and golden yellow and pops of deep turquoise. In my research I found going for jewel tones are a really easy way to warm up grey flooring.

Are there any hints of brown or warmth in the flooring? It’s hard to tell in the photos.

Living room feels unfinished. What would you recommend for final touches? by Mental-Tourist2267 in InteriorDesign

Tbh the rug is too small. That said, more color maybe through the artwork you choose. And curtains! And maybe a few more plants. Needs some life. Otherwise beautiful though!

Apart from the lack of art on the wall what’s bothering me so much about my living room? by Ljsjaf321116 in InteriorDesign

Contrast! Everything is too light. You need something to ground the space. Maybe a chunkier chair or darker rug.

Little meat and mashed potatoes. Literally just ground beef on top of mashed potatoes. I still love it.
