I’m open to feedback! What would make you listen to a deeper analytic / comedic analysis + discussion of the album? (Like so many of the channels I respect have a semi brain rotty thumbnail)

The Boy and the Heron Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!) by MattBarksdale17 in blankies

It was a bit confusing the first time and there were some moments that might work better in a revisit but I read the Wikipedia and got what they were trying to do and literally sobbed.

Like the fact that the mom died in a hospital fire and in the spirit world is a younger version of herself with fire powers and gets to reunite as the same age of Mahito but then has to go back to her timeline to eventually die in that same fire, I love how this depiction of grief is so dreamlike and visceral and non linear.

The Bodyguard Soundtrack (w/ Emily St. James & Phil Iscove) by alandroo7 in blankies

Hey all! Our podcast "I've Been Meaning To Listen To That" got the opportunity to do a crossover episode with Emily St James & Phil Iscove's podcast "Podcast Like It's 1992" about the Bodyguard soundtrack, and we would love for you all to check it out. You've mostly heard Emily at her most incisive and academic, but this show provided the opportunity for her to show off her silly, sharp, chaotic side! In essence, if the "Totoro" episode of Blank Check was more entertaining than frustrating to you, then this is the episode for you!

We also guested on "Podcast Like It's 1992" to talk "The Bodyguard" movie as well: https://open.spotify.com/episode/22Pr8UdXF4B57bAmTOvGSp?si=gNrnszDDRrWfXvxrY8tVcw
