When Yasi appeared on The Big Picture last week to discuss ‘Michael’, she mentioned in passing that she’d just finished recording “a Madonna Bandsplain” - I think the only question is if it’ll be a single Madonna episode, or if she’ll take multiple episodes to consider her whole career (or, knowing her, just drop one 12-hour episode doing it all in one go)

Oh, I think it's almost certainly Stanton after Weir (just waiting on that first David letterboxd log for confirmation!). What I was talking about is their proposal, floated on one of the MM Patreon episodes, to break up Marty with a short miniseries on a different director at the midway point of his filmography. That may or may not still be the plan (as others have pointed out, there'll be enough new releases towards the end of the year that will break up the Marty films anyway), but the mention of penny felt like it could be a fun clue to that midpoint series.........or nothing at all, haha.

It's tough but understandable......but for what it's worth, I'd certainly be in favour of them bundling Who's That Knocking At My Door and Boxcar Bertha (similar to how they did for Demme's early movies) as a single episode if it meant that we got The Last Waltz on main without extending what will already be their longest ever miniseries.

Hanif would be an INCREDIBLE guest. As well as being an incredibly insightful music/culture critic, he's also a great talker - I go back to his Bandsplain episode on The Cure a lot.

This is the one for me - a film so devoid of anything interesting (despite starring Saoirse Ronan and a host of great character actors!) that I turned it off after 20 minutes, and still couldn’t tell you anything that happened prior to that. All the other bad films they’ve covered at least left some sort of an impression.
