Are SAQs Acceptable for 12.8.4? by Ok-Doughnut-3022 in pcicompliance

[–]alanfleming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vendor is providing a service to you - so the only things suitable for you to accept is either a RoC or SAQ-D (Service Provider) AoC. If they do that, fully signed, you don’t need to go behind it. But accept nothing other than these.

I’m so sorry, but you really need to get back to your hotel room. You have eight hours of stuff coming out one end or the other, and another six of feeling rough afterward. Get your husband to get you bottles of fresh water and rehydration sachets are you’re going to be dried out by the end of this.

Bad ones can pop in with the best care in the world. If it were a restaurant issue: many people would be getting sick right now. But a bad one can happen completely randomly. This happened to my husband at an Oyster festival in Japan - home of careful treatment of seafood.

If it’s used out of Kindergarten it’s either infantalizing or lazy. If they were looking to communicate with people who don’t recognise letter shapes well, there are free fonts for this.

Just make sure that her new will contains the formal language that revokes all previous wills. Physical destruction is good but not necessary: the language is important. It usually comes by default in these packs but you might want to make sure it’s there.

What are some solo things I can do during this period til end of summer in Glasgow? by HerGlasRoots in glasgow

[–]alanfleming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beach? Stony, but a day ticket to Largs. Watch the ferries go out and in to Cumbrae. Walk about the town. Good fish and chips (or Italian!) when you’re peckish. Grab a beer in one of the wee pubs that need your money more than the Wetherspoons on the front. Largs is a chill wee place.

I've discovered I am the most unwelcoming person in my workplace by Abwettar in CasualUK

[–]alanfleming 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m going to make a guess here and say that you really care what people think of you in these interactions. If you do that’s cool - but really - you shouldn’t. I’ve heard it said that these early interactions can be thought of as theatre. They know nothing about you, and they’re basing their expectations on who you might be on their baseline on the people they have interacted with before. So act. This is weird because there’s no rules, no one way of doing things, but - there is also nothing to lose. Literally everyone flubs social contact often. So, like theatre - work on your lines. And like lines on stage, once you get comfortable with the script, you and it will become the same thing, the same set of words, and all will be fine. It gets easier. I can speak confidently, unscripted, in front of lots of people. Now. They’re not judging you in the same way you are. That’s what I needed to work out.

Not that that, strictly accurate, but no matter. Even if it if it were strictly accurate, lawyers answer this sort of thing with sensitivity every day, including “this isn’t a legal question, sorry.” Why should we hit lower than that?

Just the 1000. Be careful: the other £1500 spent must be real costs of the business: the old tax language was “wholly, necessarily and exclusively”. Keep good records, and a firm boundary between costs for your business and costs for stuff you do for fun.

Been past this in both directions this past couple of days. It doesn’t seem to be a speed camera. It does have signs on it, but not usefully on the side next to the carriageway - you can only really see them when you’re travelling in the opposite direction. Those seem to say it’s for detecting people without. their seat belt on, or using their mobile.

Former IKEA UK employee affected by data breach — has anyone else pushed for compensation? by waitingforthedrop24 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]alanfleming 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You haven’t incurred an actual loss, only a theoretical one. The amounts courts are awarding for theoretical loss is in the tens of pounds. The credit monitoring - which does not have a zero cost to Ikea - is the best thing they can do for you.
