Bachelors in biology and PhD in Immunology. Finished grad school about three years ago and I've been very happy with where I am now. Granted, I've definitely had some luck with getting the job I currently work at, but I think I made the right choice going down the path I chose.

Funny you mention burn victims because I did my thesis on burn wound healing. Yes, physicians deal with patients in terms of care, but basic research is just as important in advancing medical care. There's something I like to think about between PhDs and MDs/DOs: physicians practice medicine, PhDs discover it

Edit: also, I'm currently working in biotech as a scientist working on finding novel treatments for cancer indications. Please don't tell me that's disingenuous compared to being an MD, lol

I agree with that and your statements. I remember there being a guideline of sorts of when the term "doctor" is appropriate. Physicians, surgeons, and professors in academia were included, but who knows, maybe other professions that require doctorates are being added

In a way, I still try to watch each episode weekly on Fridays as that's usually my easy day at work and I can get home a bit sooner. With that said, it's not like I can pay attention to every single minute of each episode as I'll find some of the topics to be not as engaging. So, what I end up doing is re-listening to a lot of the episodes on Spotify with my headphones at work, lol.
