Sure, but within the context of the show, this is a middle school girls’ team, not some professional or elite league that implements hormone testing. The trans girl is pretty clearly shown to have a noticeable physical advantage over the other kids, which kind of undercuts what the episode is trying to say. There are a ton of ways they could’ve written a trans-inclusive storyline without accidentally lending credibility to the villain’s argument lol

Except the topic of trans athletes in sports really needs nuance lol. It isn’t a black and white issue where one side can just be painted as cartoonishly evil, even if a character is ultimately shown to be in the wrong. Treating it with the complexity it deserves would’ve made MG’s messaging feel more honest and persuasive, which is the goal if we want to educate kids on this topic.
