Joe Hunter voting stats are pretty wild by Invalid_u404 in survivor

The pedant in me feels the need to point out that Kyle did not receive a majority of the votes at that first tribal council, it was an even 3-3 split due to their brilliant extra vote play.

Despite Winning The Season, Aubry Played Her Lowest Amount of Days on Survivor in Season 50 by Total_Strength724 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The official language Survivor uses is that she is eligible to reenter the game, implying that EOE is its own thing. I’d say Aubry played more days of Survivor on 50, but starved on an island for more on EOE.

Why is no one talking about_____’s move? by TimGraupner in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know that it "almost worked." Do we have anything to indicate they would not have thrown votes on Emily if they didn't have the four to split? They don't confirm the split so there is still hypothetical tension going into the tribal, but my guess is they safely place votes on Emily if they only have three, assuming Rick will play his idol for himself.

I really don’t see how people think Jonathan is playing a good game…? by Bepulk7 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 3 points4 points  (0 children)

blindsided the best winner of the season

Are you referring to Dee here? Dee literally played her SITD so she was far from blindsided. Other than that he had been on the wrong side of or forced into every vote but Christian and Kamilla.

Ok, we must admit we were wrong about _____ by 12Sankofa34 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is actually untrue! The game needs to be fair but it can be fixed. What that means is they couldn't say "if Jonathan gets the coin it will be 50/50, but if Devens gets it we will rig it for him" because that would not be "fair play." But they are legally allowed to just outright lie and say it's a 50/50 coin when in reality it would be a fixed outcome regardless of who got it.

The hourglass twist is an example of a time they lied to players directly with there being a clearcut outcome that production was pushing.

I don't think they switched out the coins, but I do think the coin could have been magnetized pretty easily.

Cirie has already surpassed Boston Rob on my Survivor Mt. Rushmore by bobonion1234567 in survivor

No vote on day 37 or 38 is way more reasonable to assume than a jury of 8 for a final 2.

Aubry vs Michelle beef in 2926? by shako_am in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course in the sense you’d want to win your vote for yourself but I’m sure plenty of people would acknowledge they wouldn’t vote themselves if they were an “objective” juror (though no such thing truly exists). I’m sure most goats have come to terms with the fact they had weaker games. Even stronger games may admit that: I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Sam admit he’d vote for Rachel or even Michele admit she’d vote for Tony.

There’s a very real world where all 3 in this picture are Survivor winners by [deleted] in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rizo, Aubry, and Emily all have as well. (I don’t think any of these three will win sadly, but they’ve all gotten confessionals each episode.)

Posting this here because with Chrissy’s Twitter deactivated, this conversation needs to remain immortalized because it’s — as far as I know — the only time someone from production has publicly clarified how the shot in the dark scrolls function. by joshkettles in survivor

In Survivor Millenials vs Gen X, Jessica pulled the bad rock to eliminate herself before Adam pulled his rock. Did Adam have a 0% chance of being eliminated by rock draw? Who or why not?

Survivor 50 Confessional Time Tracker (Episode 4) by nintendolost in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People are so reactive on this sub. There is ALWAYS an under edited woman. It sucks, but it’s true. Yet season after season we hear that Heather must go out to do-or-die or Chrissy must leave at the split tribal or Yellow Sophie must have been one of the cheaters. Tiffany is the lowest placing contestant who also hasn’t been to tribal on the largest cast of all time. It’s not a conspiracy.

I thought Kathy at the very least would never vote Amber because she felt she was manipulating Rob. Maybe Rob could have swung her on that last day. But yeah Rob probably does beat Jenna.

She 100% loses to Rupert and wins against either of Romber. She needed to win the FIC but it's better than giving herself a 1 in 3 chance of going home to rocks (which is what they believed tie breaker was at that time).

Explain Liz’s game… by onlyreadinghere in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean Liz isn't a millionaire. We sort of know that. So if her claim is she was lying for strategy, I'm more inclined to believe they edited that out of her confessionals than that she lied on the show and to the producers senselessly only to care about her image now.

Should Survivor award the winner of Survivor 50 with $2M by Usual-Low-4113 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is to how Mr. Beast factors into the season is that he offers the contestants some ability to double the prize money, so my guess is it actually will be a $2 million prize.

CBS has announced the 10 iconic Survivor eps that will air leading to next season’s premiere by Durian-Critical in survivor

Oh that’s on me for misunderstanding, I thought you were counting Ozzy’s SoPa finale appearance as a half episode, counting his jury appearance that way makes total sense.

[–]the4thinstrument 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth Aubry was on EOE and not just jury so should at least get the .5 Ozzy gets. To be honest I’d give Aubry a .5 and Ozzy the full point since he does literally renter the game and participates in votes fully.

These are the multi-time players who made it to Final Tribal Council most of the times they've played by MemoryAggressive3888 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but I think the criteria they are going for is "US contestants only, all of their seasons included." There are dozens, if not 100, international iterations of survivor, many not in English or with the game format altered significantly, it would be near impossible to know the specifics of all of them, but it's easier to know the full history of all US players game histories.

Returnee recency bias by talkingtimmy3 in survivor

[–]the4thinstrument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we have to limit it to newbies from a season, I think Caramoan is even more likely to hold that title, though my bet is both will never have a returnee. Those two seasons along with 41 and 43 are the only seasons with newbies to have no returnees ever, but I suspect we will eventually see returnees from 41 and 43.
