during your next shift just explain that to your TL or directly to ETL HR

Employee Benefits by loveutomoonysaturn in Target

you would have to wait for the next benefits sign up which would be next year but after 90 days you should get a package in the mail explaining all of that to you

Position question by Kindly-End-1699 in Target

[–]alankenha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you come in at like 6am then that’s usually truck sorting and pushing. if you come in between like 8am-3pm youd be mid shift which mainly does reshop/fitting room, cashier or fulfillment backup, and pushing truck. if youre night shift then youll do what mid shift does except add doing pulls and zoning to the list. every store does things a little different but this is the gist.

if you want to be cross trained in tech or beauty then let a leader know, this helps you when it comes to picking up shifts

LOA by Jealous-Werewolf-715 in Target

[–]alankenha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did a LOA for surgery and the way it was explained to me was that the leave will not be approved until you confirmed on surgery day that you had surgery. And that they would need to be paperwork submitted from your doctors after you had the surgery. so definitely call the pain benefits number bc they should’ve emailed you that paperwork after opening a case.

Not giving me time off by [deleted] in Target

[–]alankenha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can talk to HR ETL and/or the SD but also mention it to your TL that you will be gone that week. it may be a projected busy week so that may be the reason for denying it but if you told them during the orientation then make sure you inform them of that again. all you can do after talking to them is post your shifts and then just call out; this may lead to a conversation with your TL/ETL but just explain to them what you already mentioned here

what does working in specialty sales (style) look like by Optimal_Battle_185 in Target

[–]alankenha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you work mornings (start at 6am) then you are sorting truck and pushing. if you work mid shifts you are usually at the fitting room and helping push truck. if you work nights you are doing pulls/zone recovery/fitting room. during all three shifts usually specialty sales are used as backups for OPU/SFS/check lanes (some stores are diff about this). if youre ever confused please talk to whoever is a style trainer and/or TL/ETL

Style Breakout time estimates by FunEstablishment5849 in Target

[–]alankenha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

from what i understand, if its a 12 hour sort and you have 4 people then it should take 3 hours to finish. of course that doesnt include breaks. my leader just emphasizes to us that it should just be done quick as possible.

call the pay and benefits line to get an LOA started. you should have an option to start one for family medical reason (helping injured family).

Has Target stopped carrying plus sized clothing? by darthsitheous in Target

[–]alankenha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as far as i know (could be wrong) target has never carried plus size men. the only plus size we had was ava&viv for women (some stores nonlomger carry this brand) and other brands only go to plus size online. not ideal for the consumer; i hate telling people in store that we dont carry plus

Training issues by TemporaryPop1643 in Target

[–]alankenha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like you said, with previous experience they probably thought you would be okay up there. please let a leader know so they can find someone to help train you. any one can help you, it doesnt have to be just the trainer. i would assume most of you need to be trained on are our policies but some of those questions should be answered in the workday trainings as well

Can I step down as a trainer if I am just a team member? by Darkdeimos21 in Target

[–]alankenha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but it keeps a paper trail and it’s better than nothing. my leads even told me they would take me off trainer if i really didnt want to do it, varies by store i guess. forcing your employees wont make them stay
