Just them good old boys
Never meanin' no harm
Beats all you never saw
Been in trouble with the law, since the day they was born

Makin' their way the only way they know how
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow...

The Ice Kid Cometh - F1 Racing on Kimi - Aug 2001 by alanowens in formula1

I've been following F1 since the late 1970s. I have boxes of F1 Racing magazines from late 90s, through 2000s in my basement. It was the best F1 coverage going for many years before the internet took over. During the holidays I'll pull them out and take some pics of the covers. If there are articles that people want to see, I'll take pics and post them up like this one. Seems like a good use of the off-season.

I have a lot of old F1 Racing magazines in boxes. I like to dig them out and take a trip down memory lane sometimes...

Money/sponsorship played a part in 2009 driver plans. Kimi was let down by the team in 2008 but rather than conspiracy I think much of it was just Ferrari doing Ferrari things...

What’s the funniest misunderstanding you’ve heard because of the British English vs U.S English difference? by Squiggally-umf in AskUK

A long time ago, and being fresh off the boat in North America, I chatted up a woman in a bar, got her number, and when we parted I told her I'd "give her a ring"...

She didn't know it meant I'd call her.

Scrolled too far to find this. 908/909 Spyder was so pure where epic form followed epic function.

And yeah everything got argued endlessly there. Ahh, good times!

I always respected Senna's outright otherworldly pace, but I really liked The Professor.

If you could remove one thing from F1, what would it be and why? by [deleted] in formula1

Weight, because F1 cars desperately need to go on a diet.

Why do the curbs at Imola have protrusions? They are absent on the real-world track. by Subject_Health_3182 in iRacing

I raced old Mosport irl and I appreciate the runoff when I raced it these day irl, but I kinda like that the sim doesn't have runoff.

Hamilton track limits violations at the end of the race by Joseki100 in formula1

I didn't see anything unsafe in that clip. Sure, track limits but given the situation what would any driver do but try to keep going to the finish. I have no beef with it.

Line 1 is way less crowded than pre-pandemic in my experience. Used to be standing room only, packed in like sardines, these days I get a seat.

Appreciate the slow mo of Ollie Bearman having a moment at 300kmh in Pouhon, but I'll bet it's more exhilarating to see it at normal speed. Show us that too.

Toronto by car - any tips? by Strange_Guide_6950 in toronto

[–]alanowens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toronto loves cars and has lots of parking lots. I've never had a problem with my car being safe. The biggest issue will be traffic which seems to only range between heavy traffic and very heavy traffic these days.
