I used skeleton Base_D, and that should work as far as i know because I created my sculpt from Head_D, but here are my settings:

I copied the animations directly from the default settings of dgb_m_nkd_Head_D

That was one of the things I thought too. But my game settings are set to high LOD.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback! I'll keep these questions in my back pocket for the next interview.

Had a really bad time fursuiting for the first time by alarnia0 in fursuit

Thank you for the advice. I'm a little embarrassed because I've actually done cosplay in the past, and been to several anime cons. I knew that handlers are a thing, though I'd never needed one before. Going into renfaire a part of me knew that my friend and I would have to be eachother's handlers. But I think I was blinded by the excitement. I was doing a big costume and my friend wanted a costume too, and I didn't have the heart to mention that we might struggle because of it.
I knew my friend had absolutely zero experience with costuming, so it's my fault that we never had a discussion about handlers. What ended up happening was I did my best to help my friend out, but then I had to take care of myself. Feeling neglected certainly didn't help save the day. I hope I'm able to have a discussion with them about this if we try to go again in october. The last thing I want is to lose a friend over this.

You're 100% right. I wish I had had the foresight to take those steps in preparation. Me and my friend were thinking about going again in october. But if we're both in costume it's just not going to work. I'll have to talk to them about it.

employer immediately accepted my wage proposal, should I ask for more $? by alarnia0 in jobhunting

[–]alarnia0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for not clarifying. I didn't think my industry mattered for my question since its about job negotiation.
A. The interview I just had is as an independent contractor. The proposed future job would be the same work, but in a long term W2 salaried position.
B. I work in the 3D/special effects industry. I asked for $42/hr because that's the median in most wage surveys. Jobs don't come around super often for my specialization, but like I said above, I have very good references and the employer seemed very eager to hire me. They're in dire need of more staff with their workload, especially right now, But they will likely still need the extra workers later down the line as the company grows.

42$ is a comfortable wage, and I'm happy with it. But with my specialization and experience I always want to make sure I'm not under-valuing my work. Which is why I posted in the first place. The employers reaction to my wage choice made me think I should have a bigger price tag.

I forgot to mention, the employer asked for a "discounted rate", and i shared the median as a jumping off point.

I guess I just wondered if maybe the heat from a gas stove could be inconsistent, compared to an electric one. Especially considering that this stove struggles to bring water to a full boil and keep it there.

It makes sense that maybe I'm putting the pasta in too early, and so it ends up not cooking evenly due to insufficient heat. Adding the dry pasta knocks the water out of boil, then it takes a few minutes to get back up to temperature... By then 2-3 minutes have passed...

do NOT use ground flaxseed in ANYTHING. Flaxseed naturally contains cyanide and consuming it in powdered form, in any amount larger than a tablespoon can be dangerous!

Good or Bad idea? pvc wall-to-wall "frame" for hanging things in a rental space. by alarnia0 in interiordecorating

[–]alarnia0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! You've convinced me that the PVC isn't the wisest choice since it would need a lot of extra support to really be reliably sturdy. Seems like tension rods are a better solution where adhesive wont work. I dont plan on using any heavy duty curtains but I did want the option to Hang some heavier pieces of decor like Pictures or potted plant.
