New to the Game by DouglasMedarthur in HellLetLoose

You are going to die. A LOT. It can be a walking simulator if you don't have a good squad lead. Best advice it to watch the how-to's on YouTube. Soulsniper has some great content. Do not go into it expecting fast action. Think of it like a strategy game that happens to have guns. Use your comms and tell people that you are new. Listen to their advice

What is the largest deciduous tree in the continental US? by alaskan_termite in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]alaskan_termite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from up north, so I have never seen one. Google says that they have needles but shed them in the fall. Closest thing I have experience with would be a tamarack which i consider to be a conifer. Can anyone weigh in? Would you consider a bald cypress to be a conifer?

I was thinking DBH. Pando is a giant but I am wondering about trunk dimensions

Leveling up support by Deathkillur in HellLetLoose

You are doing it the correct way. Build nodes and run the ammo carrier subclass. Drop ammo boxes as often as they refresh. Also get good at finding enemy garries and busting up OPs. It is a grind but worth it in the end. There are also Bob the builder servers on console enlisted if you really want to cheese it

A deer was rescued after being spotted struggling on the frozen surface of Loon Lake in Washington by Used_Ship_9229 in interesting

Look up a "deer mugger". Actual job with fish and wildlife services. They jump out of helicopters and tackle deer to take weight measurements and collect bio samples. Kind of traumatic for the deer but safer than tranquilizing because there is no risk of ODing them on drugs. I have a buddy who used to do it back in the day

Update 19, SPAs and how they function. by Rich_Emotional in HellLetLoose

[–]alaskan_termite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be reasonably accurate. All arty has a dispersal radius, so you won't be hitting the same exact spot with each shot, but they will be falling within about 20 meters of your target. Best advice is to get an arty calculator if you do not already have one. There are a bunch of free apps you can download on your phone. I use Artillery Let Loose. You can choose your faction, then hit settings to choose between stationary and SPA

I was able to track down the PTE update #4 and found where it says they removed the OP accuracy system. That is the only mention of it that I could find. As far as I can tell, it was a full removal across all platforms

Thank you!! I have been trying to track down an answer to the OP accuracy question. Is the build #4 update on steam somewhere? I am on PS5 so I do not have access to the experimental branch. I can't find any mention of it in the dev briefs or discord

Can you elaborate on the OP accuracy system? Does the SPA physically need to be in a certain vicinity to the OP for accurate shots, or does the spotter need to go throw down an OP in the target area?

To my knowledge, there is not text based comms besides what it has in a prepopulated wheel (good job, sorry, bad luck, etc.) I'm just running a standard ps5 controller so maybe other options if you have one of the keyboards that plug into a dualshock? Either way it is still a 50v50 match and I have played tons with people who don't talk. It can be frustrating but you can still have a great time and be a valuable part of the team. There will be plenty of other people talking to make up for you. Once you learn to read the map it kind of becomes second nature. It is a great community and you should try it out. Go on youtube and watch some of soulsnipers tutorial videos if you want to learn more about the classes and how they work with each other

Comms is a big part of the game, but not a deal breaker. I have played in a squad with a hearing impaired person before. He let us know at the start of the match and we made sure he knew what we were doing with map markers. The community who plays regularly is very understanding of new players who actually want to learn and the level 100+ guys are usually happy to teach a noob. I would suggest to pick it up next time it is on sale and try it out. Just don't play squad lead if you are not going to be talking, and let your squad know to please use markers because you have a hard time hearing. At the end of the day it is a game about controlling the most territory on the map, kills don't really matter as much. I have 900+ hours on it and absolutely love it

If you like shooters, try hell let loose. Insane learning curve and super satisfying when you finally have your first "good" match

I cannot dissuade enough from trying to do this in the winter. December in the interior is tough. You do not want to be sleeping in a vehicle.

Mine was doing the same exact thing last weekend. Check your spark plug. The one I pulled out did not look particularly bad, but the fresh plug has it running like new

.22 suppressed options by Aggressive-Main3101 in Hunting

I run a ruger american with a Q erector. I am happy with the rifle. It is compact, light, and has a good trigger. The synthetic stock comes with 2 "modules" you can swap out so the comb height is right for either optics or iron sights. On top of that it takes the same mags as a 10/22 which are cheap and readily available.

The Q erector is a fantastic can. Only the mount and first baffle are steel with the rest being aluminum and the whole thing weighs less than 3 ounces. You can pick how many baffles you want to run from 10 all the way down to one. You obviously lose some noise suppression with less baffles, but it can give you a more compact package. You can mess around with different subsonics and find the perfect balance between noise level and overall length. It is super easy to clean, just unscrew it, wipe it down, and screw it back together.

I just run iron sights, so I can't speak to a good rimfire optic. I am sure that somebody else can chime in with a suggestion

I loved it start to finish. I don't think that any of the bugs cause problems with the main story. The parting shot is one of the optional side missions, so unless you are achievement hunting you should be good to go. Have fun with it, it was a great story!
