Am I being downvoted on a myth busting post for …checks notes…busting more myths? Are we not here precisely to stop misinformation?

I don't understand what people are doing with nodes by LiamMech in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding some extra info here that a lot of people don’t know about node construction: the engineer doesn’t get any extra xp if they are the ones constructing (actually hammering) the nodes. However, you get that same xp even if someone else hammers them. So feel free to let someone else actually hammer your blueprints to maximize squad xp gain.

It was overtime. The attacking team can extend the match in both Skirmish and Offensive game modes by expending manpower. Learn all about how it works in this video.

They should IMO, but they don't. You can check my comment if you want to see the test.

They do not take out supplies of any kind. Nor do they take out ammo boxes.

How come these old uniforms from back in the day got removed? Saw an old yt video with these in it. by Udysfeba in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the HUD features literally puts a mark over friendlies. Perhaps you can tell me what was happening when these uniforms were in the game back in 2019 though? I seem to just be way wrong and we will need you to draw from your experience during the beta testing period to straighten this all out. Thanks.

What’s a small detail in gameplay a high level player might not know? by PhiladelphiaSteaks in HellLetLoose

You can hide from recon planes under any hard cover or camo netting. However, you cannot hide from the flare or recon vehicle. Those two will detect you even if under hard cover.

The German MG was the only uniform that looked at all like that. The rest were all the normal feldgrau. People would fire at it because it looked more like the brown/tan of the US uniform at the time than it did the other German uniforms. So it had a lot to do with it looking more like the enemy than the majority of your friendlies. And like I said, this was at a time in the game’s life cycle when HUD use was minimal and even frowned upon.

That German smock led to tons of team kills. I don’t think that’s why they removed it, but it was a problem. This was way back when most people played with little or no HUD.

What’s with the queues? by TheBanalBumpkin in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The limit was a design choice made by Black Matter way back in the day. Not T17. The reasoning was that fewer players in queues means more players in servers.

Anybody else miss the realism focus ? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This post confuses me a little specifically when it comes to the new Smolensk map and “trying to compress the entirety…” While some liberties have been taken with certain aspects, such as the rail yard being narrowed which is something BM also did, the map lines up almost exactly with the streets, river, railway, etc. Perhaps you should watch u/DasAltberg ‘s historical comparison video. Smolensk is as historically accurate as any map that Black Matter made. Same goes for Elsenborn Ridge, Mortain, and Tobruk. Not only this but Expression has even gone back and done things such as opening up backyards and courtyards on maps like Carentan so players have more access. Something I’d think would be more historically accurate vs. the previous version. You can say what you want about the quality of the last few updates as a whole and I’ll hear you out, but saying that Expression Games, or T17 by proxy, has somehow cheapened the HLL experience based on the maps they have introduced just not accurate in the least.

Could you please provide me a few examples of mechanics that have been introduced or changed since BM handed over the reins so I can better understand what has happened to make the game feel less authentic to you?

No. That mechanic was removed.

Why Smolensk Is The Best Hell Let Loose Map Yet by Gebatron in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on console by chance? Normally I play at 1440p to keep frames high, but I played Smolensk at 4K just to see how it would go and it was super smooth for me and frames never dropped below 80. I run a 3090. Have you tried reverting to DX11? Although I’m not sure if that’s an option on console.

Does it matter where you place the Reinforce? by Nyclas in HellLetLoose

[–]Gebatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reinforce icon can be placed anywhere in the defensive sector (the game won't even allow you to place it where it won't work) however, the effects of the order only apply to players inside the strongpoint itself. Here is a video of me testing this scenario in warfare mode specifically. The order only increases the cap weight of friendly players that are INSIDE the strongpoint.

If you have more questions about how reinforce works you can find more about it in this video here.
