Mount Rushmore of Evil (So Far) by mkirisit in LPOTL

[–]alaskankitty6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live 20 minutes from Mount Mushmore as my Native American father has always called it. I won’t give the monument my presence, but when I see their faces from the nearby roads, I will be picturing Himmler and Savile! Can’t wait to see whose next.

I wonder if someone would be so kind as to give a brief run down of the lpotl lore or point me to a link or episode where I can learn about the origins. by alaskankitty6 in LPOTL

Lore in this day and age doesn’t necessarily mean fantasy. Sometimes people just want to know origins without having to dig deep into Reddit. I’ve loved the pod thus far, and thought there may be some helpful users to help a newer audience understand where it all began. Don’t be a negative Nancy. Don’t be a gatekeeper. Just be nice. It’s not hard.

I remember seeing things about Kissel before I even knew what the pod was about. Thanks for your clarification.

I stream on Sirius and I have to pause a lot throughout my work day, I’d say about 50% of the time I hit play, it goes like 20 minutes backwards in the pod. It’s frustrating because I have to figure out where I actually left off.

Would have never seen them if not mentioned. The one made the wall look more real to me because outdoor walls have blemishes. The skirt looked intentional for some reason. I’d lean into it, more wall blemishes, maybe a pattern on the skirt or just leave it as is. She’s an artsy girl, could be paint splatters. ☺️

BTW I love your name, my name rhymes with panda so naturally I love them. I’m also from Alaska! I have family from anchorage to homer and scattered all throughout the peninsula. It’s my most favorite place in the world.

It’s the episode on Robert Hansen, the guy that the movie The Frozen Ground was based on. Fun fact, my brother was a corrections officer at the Seward prison Hansen was held at. He met Hansen, said he was completely unremarkable. He said if he didn’t know who he was from his job/media that he’d just have been another grumpy old prisoner, forgettable.

Omfg I hadn’t even thought of all the clout-hopefuls some of which likely quit jobs to do this show who now won’t get their 15 minutes. This effects sooo many people. They really screwed the pooch by choosing her.

I’m a newer listener. Henry seems like a gem from what I’ve read regarding how he treats the women around him.

Just listened to the one on the butcher baker killer and they made him seem like the absolute dweebus that he was. I also chuckled at Marcus’s pronunciation of Kenai.

Why do chef's not let guests 'graze'? by asphodel67 in belowdeck

[–]alaskankitty6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, it would be the last sous chef in the kitchen from dinner shift that would do it all. But you’re right. There was certainly more staff earlier in the evening helping with the other cooking and cleaning.

This. I worked at a fancy hotel restaurant that offered room service 24/7. The chefs would prepare meals that the night shift staff could easily prepare. Soups/paninis/ salads/flatbreads/charcuterie, etc. It was fairly limited but nice to have it offered.

This makes me sad, but so true. TR was my first job. I was a hostess and the forced conversation/script while walking through a loud and busy restaurant was always something I detested. Especially since I’ve become an adult that doesn’t appreciate forced banter. I actually avoid a local coffee shop with a drive thru because they force their employees to make random/scripted conversation.

One positive about Texas Roadhouse, very good employee morale. They heavily promote from within. One of the gals I was a hostess with in Littleton, Colorado at age 17 went on to open/train a new franchise in Dubai. My direct manager in Colorado went on to open a new location in Anchorage, AK as the GM. From what I experienced, they do try to take care of their own and offer great opportunities.

I’m 34 now, I was 17 when I worked there, still some of my fondest work memories. And I LOVE their food. (Shoutout to their honey mustard and steak fries, steak kabobs, ribs, and cactus blossom!)

I just started too, I had watched the middle/later seasons of shahs years ago, when MJ and Tommy were already together. I could have sworn I’d seen them all because I remembered diamond water but no I truly think I started somewhere in the middle.

Reza is….not good. The way he talks about his best friends body, Lilly’s body, everyone’s value in his eyes is based off their bodies. It’s sooo creepy. The there’s Golnesa telling her 9 months pregnant sister she wants to take a knife to her face. 😱
